“This is Gaza today.”
Actually, that doesn’t appear to be the case. A matching video was published in June 2025 of aid seekers.
"We'll kick the Zios out." - Montreal protesters
A protest against a genocide might be expected to make many appeals: For mercy, for aid, for peace.
Yet the most common undercurrent throughout the October 7 anniversary protests was an appeal for more violence. 🧵

What they are against is losing. What they are against is who holds the knife. They want to be the ones inflicting violence.
Peace was never an option.

The Toronto branch of the Samidoun network group Al Ahrar is holding Ottawa and Hamilton events to send letters of support to imprisoned foreign terrorists, domestic terrorists, and other criminals.
SJP University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has been holding a book club featuring a book by PFLP terrorist Wisam Rafeedie.
De Paul SJP and SJP Chicago held an October 6 session on "political strategy," with an advertisement featuring PFLP airplane hijacker Leila Khaled.
“Resistance” just means violence that one believes is justified. It whitewashes crime and atrocity in the language of a moral system.

You fucking love getting lied to.
Yes, you, scrolling right now. Stop and take stock of your public square.
This below is an example of the most common fare you consume on X. It follows a predictable pattern.
Some anonymous account with a ridiculously high following posts a visually dramatic photograph or video. Then they provide an equally dramatic context with no sourcing, citation or deeper explanation, just the most extreme and shocking story. Sometimes the context is exaggerated to the point of absurdity, sometimes the story is completely unrelated to the visuals.
These posts get millions of views, tens of thousands of likes, and thousands of shares.
In the below example, a quick image reverse search of a picture — supposedly of Israelis arbitrarily stripping people nude and binding them — indicates that this is from the October 7 Massacre and these men were likely invaders and perpetrators of atrocities.
No comment or community note, even if you’re lucky enough to get one, is quick enough or impactful enough to dissipate the influence of such posts.
You see dozens if not hundreds of such posts each day. Chances are you probably liked or shared one of them.
Chances are you have at one point you also complained about the state of mainstream media. After all, look how they have an agenda. How they withhold context from some stories, how they don’t cover others. Look how their language is biased. How they just regurgitate what authorities or peers say. How they sensationalise and engage in clickbait.
What emerged in response was the idea of enhanced citizen journalism, that social media platforms like X will serve as public squares, as marketplaces of ideas.
Yet every valid criticism of mainstream media practices are engaged in on X. In a supreme meta act of the Gell-Mann amnesia effect you acknowledge the error of all mainstream media and then turn to the exact same practices on social media, if not amplified a hundred fold.
The marketplace of free ideas is a Western institution is predicated on the principle of truth; ideas will be debated on their merits in good faith and the best will rise to the top.
Yet you opened the market to the entire world in a misguided attempt at fairness. Truth is not a universal principle, and you flooded the market with cheap goods that do not stand up to the quality and regulations of honest discourse and the pursuit of truth.
You allows totalitarian countries without the free market, where the business of ideas is government-owned and all trade of truth is tightly state controlled, to cheat in your country’s market with subsidised ideas. They send their representatives to engage with you, using your system, but you never see the average citizen of their country engage with you. They’re forbidden unless approved by the state. Meanwhile they flood the market with the counterfeit ideas of thousands of bots.
You engendered ideologies in your so-called academies of higher-learning where truth doesn’t matter, only the ends.
You incentivised intellectual theft, content farming, and cheap products with monetisation and a lazy and addicted attention economy.
The marketplace of free ideas has been turned by all these forces into a wet market of slop content.
You consume the slop. You lap it up. The reality is you likely didn’t stop scrolling. You didn’t stop to read this, and if you did, you didn’t get this far down.
You fucking love getting lied to. You share it. You like it. You view it. We all do. It’s not mainstream media who is the problem. Everyone is.
It only takes a moment of reverse google image search to see indications that this photograph appears to date back to the October 7 Massacre, meaning that these men were most likely participants in the invasion and atrocities.

A few weeks ago, someone pretending to be me reached out to one of Israel’s leading defense companies, claiming to be working on a sequel to my book “The Weapon Wizards”. The impersonator requested an interview with the company’s CEO, supposedly for the new book.
Fortunately, the company’s spokesperson, whom I know personally, became suspicious. The phone number was unfamiliar, the email address was different, and something didn’t seem right. She reached out directly, and that’s how the impersonation was exposed.
Then yesterday came another discovery.
Since July, a YouTube channel called “Katz the Analyst” (good name, I have to admit) has been publishing videos featuring what appears to be me speaking from my home office. Except the videos are deepfakes, using real footage of me in my home office but replacing the voice and inserting entirely different content.
The reach is negligible, but the messaging is intentional: Iran is portrayed as the smart, patient player in the Middle East; Israel is presented as a liability to the United States; Russia and China are depicted as the beneficiaries of the regional standoff. There are also conspiracy theories woven throughout.
All of this has been reported to the relevant authorities in Israel, as well as to YouTube.
But here is the bigger issue, and why this should concern everyone, especially with the Israeli elections just around the corner.
We are already seeing AI-generated videos being used in election campaigns. Some are clearly labeled as AI-generated, while others are designed to deceive. The technology has reached a point where almost anyone can be made to say almost anything, with a level of realism that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.
Think about what this means in the final days before an election. A fabricated video of a candidate making an outrageous statement, a military official supposedly revealing classified information, or a journalist appearing to report a story that never happened could spread to hundreds of thousands of people before anyone has a chance to verify its authenticity.
And even if the video is eventually exposed as fake, the damage might already have been done.
There is also a second danger. As deepfakes become more common, genuine videos and authentic statements can increasingly be dismissed as fabrications. In other words, the technology doesn’t just make it easier to spread lies. It also makes it harder to establish the truth.
I have no idea who is behind these impersonations or whether the incidents are connected. The limited reach of the YouTube channel suggests that, for now, the impact is minimal. But the implications are much bigger and should worry us all.
