Congratulations to our newest graduate, Dr. Rae House! 🎓All the best for your postdoctoral research with the Lien Lab @eclien
To learn more about the role of Nf1 in pretumorigenic mammary stromal cells, check out our newest publication in @FrontCellDevBio 🐁

Congrats to first author @amenusha , @VAInstitute cores, & collaborators that contributed to this study 💐 #EndNF
🎉 Excited to share part of my PhD work with @SteensmaLab is now published in @FrontCellDevBio 🧬
We showed that germline Nf1 mutation in rats disrupts mammary adipocyte differentiation & increases collagen deposition prior to breast cancer formation 🐁

Registration closes May 10 for the VAI Epigenomics Workshop. This 3-day, hands-on, problem-based experience will immerse PhD students in the latest epigenomics research and techniques. Please share with anyone who might be interested! vai.org/event/vai-epigenomic…
A new doctor in the house 🎉 Congratulations to Dr. House for successfully defending her dissertation today🥂
Excited to share our newest publication in @oncogenejournal 🎉
“p53 modulates kinase inhibitor resistance and lineage plasticity in NF1-related MPNSTs”
Highlights below 🧵

p53 loss drives a selective clonal advantage in MPNST by promoting acquired resistance to targeted kinase inhibition and modulating lineage plasticity pathways.
Congratulations to first author @jamie_grit , @sydney51605 + other coauthors, and collaborators! 💐

In our latest publication in @theJIDJournal, we developed a patient-derived explant model for cutaneous neurofibromas that can be leveraged for mechanistic studies and preclinical drug testing.
As proof of principle, we employed our novel explant model to extend our prior findings regarding differences between downstream RAS-mediated inflammation in CNFs. We found that ex vivo glucocorticoid treatment was able reduced inflammation in these explants.
Congratulations to first author @jamie_grit and coauthors! 🎉

Excited to share a new publication from our lab - NF1 deficiency drives metabolic reprogramming in ER+ breast cancer.
Read more here; sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Highlights below 🧵
Highlights:
- NF1 deficiency -> metabolic reprogramming in ER+ BC
- NF1-driven metabolic reprogramming = OXPHOS constraints, glutamine TCA influx, & lipid pool expansion
- NF1-deficient ER+ BC cells have increased sensitivity to combined RAS + triglyceride synthesis inhibitors
Congratulations to graduate student, Rae House, on her first first author publication! 🎉
Thank you to our funding sources, coauthors, collaborators, and @VAInstitute cores for all their contributions to this project.
