Now that people from Teso are speaking up as Itesot on his issue, Elwelu is safe. In fact, he’ll regain his freedom sooner - days from now!
Most of the people who will accuse the Itesot standing with Elwelu for tribalism are from a region with the kind of access no other group has in Uganda. In truth, they too stand up for their tribesmate, but they have the advantage of doing it in private, and in a language that isn't English unlike the rest of Ugandans.

Last evening we received news of the arrest of our brother Lt Gen Peter Elwelu over security related allegations by UPDF. The news of a possible insurgency brewing in Teso have taken many people in the region by shock.
Since last evening, I have been receiving several phone calls from several opinion and Party leaders in Teso and Eastern Uganda about this matter of grave concern.
Aware of our turbulent history, We Together with other senior leaders, have embarked on a consultation with responsible institutions to ascertain the details and magnitude of the said matter. We have also informed H.E the President about the concerns of the majority of people in Teso.
For now, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Eastern Uganda, we call upon the population in Teso and Uganda at large to remain calm as we continue engaging the responsible authorities on this matter of public interest.
Finally, as leaders and the people of Teso, we look forward to a speedy and transparent inquiry into these matters while urging the members of the public to desist from making unnecessary inflammatory statements to alarm the community in the region .

PLU's registration and endorsement drive is a smart method that no existing organisation has attempted before. It's like an opinion poll, but dealing with real people who have national IDs and contacts, targeting to have more members than the registered voters in the 2026 elections. Some political groups often claim victory in elections based on opinion polls that used random people, who are neither members of the party nor voters, as respondents. On Gen. @mkainerugaba's supposed bid for the Presidency, clearly he has stated that his bid is after H.E @KagutaMuseveni and not challenging him for the seat. Many are misunderstanding this while others are twisting it deliberately to create unnecessary anxiety and friction in the Ugandan public space. PO132 FK

As a PLU member, am VERY worried, but also not worried at all. I've Seen it all, and even led the KAVUYO. I already KNOW what is happening.
Am just worried because of 6 FACTS only;
1. I suspect that don't have a PO number because it's Intentional, SOMEONE is planning SOMETHING else for me AGAIN, different from what am already doing. Do you know that Jajja called me to ONC to become its Publicity Secretary but Chairman CPA Kitatta was more suited even to my thinking. Me am too complicitated and war-like for that role. hehe. Jajja was not happy am told, hehe.
2.Gen Museveni DOES NOT make Mistakes. He is also the Chairman of NRM party, the party that has led Uganda to prosperity for 4 decades and his Office is officially at Kyambogo, not anywhere else you can imagine. Statehouse is his Residential HOME.
3.The NRM, as successful as it is, is NOT 'owned' by ONE person or entity you can pinpoint. It's a coalition of Very Powerful forces from all Corners of Uganda, Africa and beyond, administered and held in balance by only HE Gen Museveni and a few team mates, most his age mates. What this coalition desire is always Final. It won't matter what you FEEL or want.
4.Literally speaking and even legally, but ideally, the Office of the National Chairman @Onc_nrm1 is the Most POWERFUL organ in the Whole of NRM (and Uganda) and even the UPDF and every powerful person or entity of the State that you can imagine 'REPORTS' to it, as long as NRM is the Ruling Party.
5. The Leader/Principal of ONC is never a Mistake. NRM does not make Mistakes, I repeat once again.
6.The Person who holds the Office of the ONC as its Head today, Hajjati Namyalo Uzeiye @ChiefMuzzukulu also happens to hold the MOST Powerful POLITICAL office as the SPA to Gen Museveni and she is literally in charge of ALL POLITICAL matters in the @NRMOnline and this is also NOT by Mistake. She is NOT stupid or mad. It's like those who say am also mad. hehe. And you are many.
I cannot be fooled. Counsel Namyalo is one of the MOST intelligent, brilliant and sophisticated 'Agents' I've ever studied. And Gen Museveni knows It too. She is what Gen Museveni desires there and there is NOTHING anybody on earth can do about it or to her. What she says is always Final, am afraid and worried.
