The purpose of Neoliberalism is to divert public money to the private sector. That's why we pay £14 billion annually to private landlords, instead of £14 billion to local authorities to maintain, upgrade, and expand their council housing stock. Also, Govt surpluses are bad.
Claiming the UK is living under austerity is factually wrong. State spending accounts for around 45% of GDP - its highest for decades and the UK’s tax burden is the highest since WW2. We haven’t run an annual surplus this century, and have instead been spending more and more each year (even under the Tories) paid for via borrowing. People use “austerity” as a by-word for “I’m struggling financially”, but the reason people feel squeezed is because our economy is inefficient and unproductive (in large part because of high tax and regulation) - meaning growth remains sluggish and therefore living standards aren’t rising in real terms. The likes of the Greens trot out statistics like “one in three children live in poverty” when what they’re really referring to is relative poverty, not absolute poverty. The latter is a genuine scourge, the former is a left-wing construct that justifies ever increasing levels of state spending which, when that doesn’t produce the desired results, then leads to calls for yet more borrowing, spending and debt. It is an economic doom loop - and NEVER an excuse for violence like in France.

BBC has role that is mere propaganda for establishment. Here the future King of UK is on a tv sofa saying we need to prove how progress is possible on climate crisis, whilst he and and his elite ilk have a carbon footprint 50 times that of average family bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c30r…

The Tories are creating about non paid tax being recovered from bank accounts. They were quite happy for that to happen with benefit recovery though.......
🚨 NEW: The Tories say Labour's plan to let HMRC take unpaid tax directly from bank accounts is "outrageous" "Labour want the taxman to be able to empty your bank account over a few hundred pounds and leave you with nothing to pay the rent. It is absurd that Labour are handing the taxman powers like these. Scrapping these safeguards and collaborating with credit agencies so they can decide which accounts to raid is outrageous... they are once again approaching the Budget looking for yet more ways to squeeze the public so they can bankroll more benefits handouts"

If in doubt, go with the side with the Kalashnikovs’.
Some people speak without knowing or understanding the true situation... Yemen has been at war since 2015, enduring immense suffering and heavy bombardment. We lived not just for days, but for months without electricity, gasoline, or gas. Bombs rained down on us daily. Our airports and ports were closed. We were attacked from all sides. We lived through incredibly difficult times. Thanks be to God, we were able to endure everything. We adapted to the war, the fighting, and the bombing. The war itself became less of a hardship than the siege. The longer the siege lasted, the more difficult our situation became. Every passing year was harder than the last. Then a truce and negotiations took place, and the siege eased slightly... it didn't end, it just lessened. Not a year passed before the events in Gaza began. Although our wounds were still raw, we hadn't even begun to heal when we entered a war with Israel, America, and Britain. The bombing resumed, and worse still, the siege intensified. Immense suffering. A major war, a suffocating siege, our situation is unenviable due to the accumulation of suffering, problems, and the dire humanitarian situation. We are the people most in need of respite, rest, peace, and time to heal our wounds. We are the most oppressed people, having endured immense suffering. We are the people who least want war and who most strive to avoid any problems, fighting, or wars. We are not fighting this war with Saudi Arabia because we want to, but because we are forced to. We are compelled because we have no other choice. The world will continue to watch us die from disease and poverty. No one will have mercy on us, and even those who do will be powerless to help us. ... This war was imposed upon us against our will. This war is our only hope to end the injustice and suffering inflicted upon us. We will not accept half-measures, we will not accept any truce, we will not accept a peace in which we die under siege... There is no easy path for us to take. It is either a path of fighting and sacrifice, where we seize our rights and freedom, or a path of siege and starvation, where we await the mercy of our enemy while we slowly die.

#bbcpm #C4News #Newsnight #bbcaq: Well, the spooks had to be doing something while they were failing to notice Anthony Blunt, Guy Burgess, John Cairncross, Donald Maclean or Kim Philby. Good chaps, you see. Right schools and all that. Unlike #AneurinBevan. The only two British MPs ever known to have been on the books of any Eastern Bloc country, and in both cases it was Czechoslovakia, were the conventionally Hard Right Conservative Ray Mawby, and John Stonehouse, who still has a reasonable claim to have been the most right-wing Labour MP ever, again including from the point of view that he was a dyed-in-the-wool Cold Warrior. davidaslindsay.blogspot.com/…

An insane admission
“Have you spoken to any Palestinian organizations before you wrote your letter?” @ShehabKhan presses Labour MP Mike Tapp who reported the Green Party over its Zionism motion about whether he’s ever spoken to any Palestinians. Tapp: “I don’t know any Palestinian people.”

I’m old enough to remember 48 hours ago on Politics Live when the media and political class were incandescent about a non-Jewish person explaining antisemitism to a Jewish person. Any minute now they’ll condemn Michael Gove’s vile comments towards Zack Polanski. Any minute now.
from @declassifiedUK. Here is an angry non Jewish Micheal Gove claiming he knows more about antisemitism than @ZackPolanski the only Jewish party leader.
