In 2010, The Hills star Heidi Montag showed her mother the result of 10 plastic surgeries in one day. Her mother said she was more beautiful before, and after that they didn't speak for about two years.
In the video below, Heidi lists the surgeries one by one. Her mother, Darlene, answers: "You risked your life to do the things that you did."
Before filming, Heidi says, she told her mother she was "very fragile." "Whatever you say, I'm holding you accountable."
Then, on camera, Heidi asked her mother: "Do I look good?" "Of course I thought you were more beautiful before," Darlene said.
Heidi said her mother didn't have to like it, but had to understand her pain. "This is what I chose, and there's nothing that I can take back."
In 2023, Heidi looked back at the surgeries on a podcast. "I was beautiful before and it was fine. And I didn't need that."
In 2025, Heidi said she and her mother are "really close again." "I get that as a mom, too," she said about her mother's worry.
