The Chancellor has vowed to reindustrialise the nation.
And give breathing space to families struggling with their bills.
From Rosyth to Appledore, Belfast to Barrow: GMB members are keeping us safe in turbulent times.
We must build on this: ensuring workers benefit.

Really looking forward to following @ConnorOn95 as he takes on the Everton FC correspondent role at @LivEchoEFC.
I was very fortunate to get a lot of support on here, and I hope Connor gets the same - if you don’t follow him already, please do 🙌
🚨Some personal news: Delighted to say I’ve been appointed the ECHO's new Everton correspondent.
I know I have big shoes to fill, as @joe_thomas18 was brilliant, but as someone who grew up reading @LivEchonews, it is a dream and a privilege to get the chance to report on #EFC 🔵

NEW. The £100 energy payment will be paid via council tax system (likely into your bank account) from January 2027 for all in Council Tax Band A to D. England only so far, but other UK nations are getting funding to do it.
There is also a £100m available for people who will still struggle regardless of band.

Kemi Badenoch criticises Andy Burnham for not being there during the chaos of the Brexit debates in parliament
The PM responds saying that's exactly why Labour are going to fix things,
"The country was paralysed by the Conservatives: low growth, insufficient control on migration"
"I am focused on getting a better deal for Britain"
"For farmers and food producers, less red tape on our exporters, more support for steel and car industries, more control of migration"
"Where is the Tory party of old that used to stand up for those things"
My veiw:
Badenoch wanted to make Andy Burnham’s absence from the Brexit debates the story. Instead, the exchange exposed how much the Conservative Party has changed.
The old Tory instinct was to talk about British industry, backing producers and making the country’s rules work in Britain’s interests. Labour is now making that case.
Today’s Conservatives seem to have traded that ground for a race to sound more like the far right.
You can argue over whether Labour will deliver.
But it’s striking to watch the party that once claimed ownership of these ideas attack them from the sidelines.

Not bad for a little girl who was all alone and in agony on a building site.

Read Virgil van Dijk’s programme notes: lfc.tv/3UNBSGk 💬

ALT Quote graphic from Virgil van Dijk reading: "We have been able to get ourselves on a good run of victories in the last few games, building some good momentum in the process. We want that to continue this evening. Weeks like this one, in which we face top opponents in quick succession at Anfield, are the kind we live for at Liverpool, and we are all looking forward to tonight's game."

As the Chief Whip I can't speak in the Chamber, so thank you to my friend the Minister Sally Jameson MP for raising Lisa's case for me today.
Lisa came to my surgery on Friday. She, like so many of you, has been badly let down by Capita's handling of the Civil Service Pension 🧵

28 MPs have signed EDM 1030 on the Right to Food UK Commission’s final report.
Our report sets out a roadmap to end food poverty by 2035. The Government must act & put the Right to Food into law.
Please ask your MP to sign the motion & stand with the communities fighting to end hunger.
Hunger is a political choice. Together we can change it.

Evidence from the Covid Inquiry is now overwhelming — @MattHancock's failures during the pandemic led to thousands of avoidable deaths.
Removing Hancock from the Privy Council would be a small step towards accountability.

Andy Burnham, "Can I tell her who supports what we are doing?"
"The CBI, the Federation of Small Business, the British Retail Consortium, Asda, Morrisons, M&S, Salmon Scotland"
"They all support what we're trying to do"
"Why doesn't she join with us and send a strong message that Britain is calling for a better Brexit deal so we can get growth going again"
My view;
The Conservatives once built their reputation on being the party that understood business.
Now they’re defending a system that leaves businesses buried in friction and paperwork, while the people who actually represent employers are asking for a better arrangement.
That’s quite a fall: from championing enterprise to becoming the party of red tape.

People across our region deserve a government that’s on their side.
Today’s Budget puts more money in people’s pockets and takes another step towards giving places like ours the power to shape our own future.
That's what a @UKLabour government is all about 🌹

Just like you and I commercial companies have credit ratings.
S&P, one of the big global corporate credit rating agencies have just downgraded Thames Water's rating to CCC-.
Meaning? Get your money the hell out of there, if you invest this company highly likely you're gonna loose it. Run like the wind bullseye.
Meanwhile 15 million customers are trapped with nowhere to run.
