#ChristianNationalism is a growing threat in the UK. Well done to Max Colbert and the @BylineTimes for highlighting the vile reality of it. I'm pleased to be quoted in this article, urging Christians to resist the far-right and champion Jesus' radically inclusive Gospel.
🔴 NEW Tommy Robinson’s Temple: The Christian Conference Uniting Preachers from the Far-Right Fringe By @MaxColbert Organisers of the "Make Great Britain Christian Again" conference include preachers linked to far-right rallies, prompting warnings that faith is being used to provide moral cover for nationalist politics Subscribe to support fearless independent journalism. bylinetimes.com/2026/07/29/t…

Disgusting. #NathanCofnas isn't a closet racist; he's an out-and-out explicit racist. What the f**k is @OrielOxford thinking?
Barely two months ago, we lost Professor Jason Arday. Thousands grieved. Institutions across higher education spoke about inclusion and belonging. Now Nathan Cofnas is being given a room at Oriel College, Oxford, to ask whether DEI is undermining higher education. 🧵

Another British Prime Minister bending over backwards to appease a climate denying authoritarian President. We deserve so much better than this.
Trump confirms scoop. Tells reporters he and Burnham spoke about North Sea ("Andy is getting it done, and I guess it's against the liberal principle, but he knows what's right") But remains tight lipped about Ukraine/Iran - says they spoke "lightly" about both topics

The government didn’t just approve Jackdaw, they also reiterated their support for so-called tiebacks - a dodge to allow yet more new drilling without new licenses. This deserves almost as much scrutiny as Jackdaw and has got barely any of it, so I raised it in the Chamber.

This is DISGUSTING even for him. If we’re blaming people for their relatives then WHAT ABOUT THE KING’S BROTHER?

BBC gives William a free sofa on Graham Norton to preach climate urgency. Same man whose household just took delivery of two new helicopters, who treats private jets and choppers like a Prius on Uber, travels in security convoys and lives across multiple palaces, all while lecturing the rest of us about plastic straws. What has the Royal Family actually done to cut their massive carbon footprint? Why is nobody asking William about his own? Pure hypocrisy. #AbolishTheMonarchy

Finishing touches ahead of this evening’s State Banquet… ✨   Tonight, The King and Queen will host a State Banquet for the Sultan of Oman at Windsor Castle.   ☕️ Inspired by the Omani ritual of Kahwa, a collection of special teas will be served.   While Kahwa is traditionally a spiced coffee, the concept has been adapted to draw on the long-standing British love of tea while preserving the aromatic spices and flavours that make Kahwa so distinctive: fragrant cardamom, delicate rose, sweet dates, and gentle warming spices.   Guests will be invited to choose from an Iced Earl Grey & Date, an Iced Mint & Rose, or a Warm Cardamom-Spiced Blend sweetened with Windsor Honey.   Together, they reflect the warmth and hospitality shared by both Omani and British traditions. 🇬🇧🇴🇲

A challenging article from @theosnick . But “I, too, want to see Britain Christian” needs unpacking. Christian in what sense? More people freely choosing to follow Jesus? A society shaped by compassion, justice and hospitality? Or a nation in which Christianity has a privileged claim to define who belongs? From Kilburn, these distinctions are crucially important. My Jewish and Muslim neighbours, those of other faiths and those of no faith, belong here as fully as I do. Their belonging needs no Christian permission. The cross makes demands on those of us who follow Jesus. It gives us no licence to decide who belongs. churchtimes.co.uk//articles/….

I am furious that the government approved Jackdaw - a gas field that will do nothing for jobs, bills, or energy security. This climate vandalism has to stop. The answer is No To Rosebank. huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/g…

NEW: A group of Catholic bishops prayed over President Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday, 12 days before the midterm elections, at a meeting organized by an official at the Heritage Foundation. A senior Vatican official called it “a highly inappropriate meeting and an insult to Pope Leo XIV.” In April, Trump called the pope “terrible for Foreign Policy,” and Vice President JD Vance warned that Leo should “be careful” when he talks about theology. thelettersfromleo.com/p/past…

Perhaps next, William could make a surprise appearance on Newsnight or Question Time, or somewhere else where he'll be asked challenging questions and held to account - as anyone in public life should be.

Ar y diwrnod hwn ym 1965, agorwyd cronfa ddŵr Llyn Celyn yn swyddogol, yn dilyn boddi Capel Celyn, pentref Cymraeg ei iaith ger y Bala, er mwyn cyflenwi dŵr i Lerpwl. Aeth y cynllun yn ei flaen er gwaethaf gwrthwynebiad aruthrol ledled Cymru, heb i'r un Aelod Seneddol o Gymru bleidleisio o'i blaid. Anwybyddwyd llais cenedl gyfan. Mae Tryweryn yn parhau i fod yn atgof poenus o'r hyn sy'n digwydd pan wneir penderfyniadau am Gymru o'r tu allan heb wrando ar lais ei phobl. #CofiwchDryweryn ❤️ On this day in 1965, Llyn Celyn reservoir was officially inaugurated, following the flooding of Capel Celyn, a Welsh-speaking village near Bala, to supply water to Liverpool. The project went ahead despite overwhelming opposition across Wales, with not a single Welsh MP voting in favour. The voice of an entire nation ignored. Tryweryn remains a painful reminder of what happens when decisions about Wales are made from outside Wales without the consent of its people.
