“It [feminism] is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands.”

Slaves are prideful and morally inferior because they don’t gleefully accept their position in society, unlike their masters
As long as we’re talking about good reads on marriage, Fr. Thomas J Gerrard’s “Marriage And Parenthood: The Catholic Ideal.”

women are typically socialized to be very selfish, anybody who’s lived to a certain point is aware of this
How does this support the idea that women shouldn't submit to, or obey their husbands? It doesn't.
You're just creating a strawman and knocking it down. I've never advocated for a husband having absolute tyranical authority over his wife.
Even if they legitimately reject the modern encyclicals on marriage and the concept of “mutual submission,” how many of these internet marriage theologians have actually read Casti Connubii?
“This subjection, however, does not deny or take away the liberty which fully belongs to the woman both in view of her dignity as a human person, and in view of her most noble office as wife and mother and companion; nor does it bid her obey her husband's every request if not in harmony with right reason or with the dignity due to wife; ... For if the man is the head, the woman is the heart, and as he occupies the chief place in ruling, so she may and ought to claim for herself the chief place in love.”
Liberals do this same thing where they criticize the idea of having a king and their idea of a king is just a tyrant who makes them disobey God, or something. That's actually a corruption of monarchy; not the ideal, and every form of government can go wrong.

This is ironic because submission discussion comes from the bible and women are insecure about obeying God.
Because marriage really doesn’t exist for most people anymore.
It has transformed from a life long union for the sake of the children, into a thousands of dollars vanity project for women.
You do it to fulfill her wildest fantasies now, and to one up the Jones on social media.

My question for women is why would they marry a man they are unwilling to follow his leadership? I think that would be top of the list of requirements for women.
It’s crazy how some of the biggest defenders of the welfare state can’t think of any other ways of surviving a divorce other than having a career.
The thing is, being able to do what you want is very often not the same thing as being happy and having true freedom.

Feminism means a woman can work, or she can choose to marry at 18, pop out a baby every 9 months, be chained to the sink, & get dumped at 37 for a new 18yr old. The key is letting her do what *she* wants to do. Choice = freedom; force = slavery

This is an incredibly sad and soulless view of marriage. Nothing about the beauty of commitment, children or service. Love is about embracing and celebrating the person and sacrificing for their good. What is being described here is the opposite of love: it’s using the other person for their own ego, convenience and pleasure.

“that "order of love," as St. Augustine calls it. This order includes both the primacy of the husband with regard to the wife and children, the ready subjection of the wife and her willing obedience.”
-Pope Pius XI, “Casti Connubii”
Really prerequisites reading for any discussion on marriage:

This is ironic because the submission discussion comes from women who are insecure about giving up control over their lives to their husbands.
That’s one of the roots of the entire feminist revolution.
I don't think the whole "submission" obsession amongst trads has much to do with sex or even religion
It largely comes from young men seeing religion as a way to de-risk marriage in a world where marriage feels very risky
Many of these young men are plagued with anxiety and insecurity not just in terms of their own ability to have a successful relationship, but whether such a thing exists at all
They're looking at divorce rates, popular culture, not to mention at many of their own parents and going "This looks like a mess"
So religion, and in particular the parts where you have clear rules everyone can just follow, is extremely enticing
But many of them see concepts like "submission" and interpret them as a way of being able to white-knuckle a relationship or marriage into surviving, as in, "What if she just did everything I said?"
Obviously this is extremely attractive, the problem is just that it's not reality - it's not what the faith teaches, nor is it actually that easy regardless
Religion cannot take all the risk out of marriage for you

Anti-egalatarianism is so vindicated from the fact that practically every woman turns completely heterodox when they are given a sliver of power in the Church.
GO BACK TO THE CONVENTS!
P1. Scripture: “Do not fear.”
P2. Talking to women is scary.
C. Talking to women is a sin.
