Betty Hunt, 91, has been discharged from the QMC in time for Christmas with her family. The great grandmother of 10 was admitted over a week ago with a broken wrist after falling at home. She said: "“I am very excited to go home and spend Christmas with my family."

Despite starting my day with hosing the dog bed because of overnight 💩, then getting stuck in roadworks, then dropping the cakes I made for my colleagues on the floor. I still had a gr8 day because of the support & great humour of my fab #SLT friends & colleagues @NUHAcuteSLT ❤️

Everyone is welcome here. An open letter from Chief Executive Anthony May At Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), we believe in inclusion, and we value diversity. Out of more than 19,000 colleagues, 5,000 can trace their origins outside the UK. Our colleagues come from more than 130 different countries and bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills. These colleagues contribute to every aspect of our services. These colleagues book appointments, greet patients, deliver meals, provide care, keep us safe through our security services and they are an intrinsic part of the leadership and operational management of the Trust. Above all, colleagues from all backgrounds and across all characteristics provide care, day in day out. They are the backbone of NUH and of the NHS. We stand together with our colleagues. We are clear that our strength lies in our diversity. Every individual, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or background, deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination of any kind and in any form will not be tolerated at NUH. We are taking steps to support and protect our employees. We will use our policies and procedures to their fullest extent, and we will work with our partners, including the police, to address racism and other forms of discriminatory behaviour in our hospitals. We will work tirelessly to make NUH a haven of care, healing, and peace. In July 2024 we launched our new organisational values: kind, inclusive, ambitious, and one team. Today, we launch our Everyone is Welcome Here campaign, designed to recognise and celebrate the diversity of our staff and to respond to the discrimination faced by them in our hospitals and in our communities. Everyone is Welcome Here has our values at its heart, promoting kindness and inclusivity in our hospitals and in the community, and celebrating the contributions of all our colleagues. We hope this campaign will have a positive influence on our staff, our patients and the public, who will support us to make sure that at NUH, everyone is welcome.

Hello everybody. We're going to be looking at some of the professionals that may be seen in healthcare. There will be a couple of repeated signs, but it's always good to have a refresher 😊 Our sign of the week is nurse #MyLDteamday
