Supporting #LightItInRed #WeMakeEvents All our 12 gigs cancelled this year. Festivals, pubs, clubs. It’s about more than us though. It’s the 1,000,000 events jobs at risk. #REDALERT #live #music @GazettePHill @TMAC_Taunton

On 6th July 2020, 670 buildings across the U.K were lit red signalling a call for help for the arts and entertainment industry. Here’s just a few highlights from this monumental event. But it’s not over yet! Standby LX2... #LightItInRed #WeMakeEvents #WatchThisSpace

I can’t explain why this has been my FB profile banner since April last year but I find it unsettling that it has been. Please let it not still be there another year #ghostlight #theatre #LeaveALightOn #StaySafe

Traditionally, whenever the theatre is empty we leave one light on, typically on a stand in the centre of the stage - this light is known as the ghost light. There are many stories about its origin but its meaning is unmistakable.

Chroma-Q Theatre @leedscitycoll is going to be dark for a while so in the best traditions of the theatre I have left a #ghostlight. Environmentally friendly of course. We will be back @ACEntTech @LCC_Backstage

We’ve never been overly superstitious @VenueCymru.Most of us avoid saying the "Scottish Play" on stage & some of us avoid whistling on stage but we’ve never had a #ghostlight. Now seems like the right time to me. We WILL return, the show WILL go on.#Theatres #Tradition #Quarantine

Gotta say, all these #ghostlight tweets are fully breaking me. Love and solidarity to all those leaving a light on tonight. This is just an interval. 💔 – at West Bromwich, England

The #ghostlight is an old tradition in Theatre. When the theatre is empty one light is left on, usually in the centre of the stage. In these uncertain times we're leaving that light on, for you, our friends, our #community and #Theatre

The #GhostLight means that our theatre is empty, but WE WILL RETURN. The #GhostLight is a sign. We may be gone, but our compassion, our creativity, our drive, and our love are still centre stage, waiting until we can come back and turn that ghost light off.
