This is the sentiment of MILLIONS of American workers, students and youth. They are rapidly coming into awareness that their class interests are not expressed by the Democratic Party, despite their vote. A major break is coming, far sooner than you think. wsws.org

Trump is the political representative of a financial oligarchy. Removing him will not remove it.

NYC median asking rent has risen to a record high of over $3,700 a month, while wages for workers have flatlined. Under such conditions, many are effectively priced out of safe living arrangements - 10 die in a week of devastating house fires in New York wsws.org/en/articles/2026/11…

wsws.org/en/articles/2026/11… The Democrats are not acting as an opposition party that has defeated the government. They do not need Republican support. They will hold substantial majorities in both the House and the Senate. Why, then, are they talking about bipartisanship at all?

Millions want an end to war, the defense of democratic rights and a decent life. The ruling class, and the union apparatus, are terrified of what the vote anticipates.

Millions voted to repudiate Trump. But the Democratic Party is a party of Wall Street, and what it fears most is that opposition growing from below.

wsws.org/en/articles/2026/11… The bankers are neither naive nor sentimental. They know that the Democrats are not going to implement a policy of social reform, let alone socialism. If they believed the election posed any threat to their interests, they would not be celebrating.

wsws.org/en/articles/2026/11… Millions did not vote for “hope over hatred.” They voted against war, social misery and dictatorship. After two years spent searching for common ground with a would-be dictator, however, Jeffries announced that the search would continue.

Just as we predicted. There are far more CIA agents and former special forces officers in the Democratic caucus than faux "socialists." The fauxialists are there to provide a cover for the CIA operatives and capitalist carpetbaggers. They will give Trump an amnesty.
Jeffries: "I haven't had a single member of the House Democratic caucus talk to me about impeachment. We've been relentlessly focused on affordability and accountability."

Why do you believe that Dems want to end the war? They've been criticizing Trump, from the right, for not fighting the war intelligently. D-Sen Chris Murphy: “I and my colleagues will be ready to provide the funding to replenish the stores of munitions.” wsws.org/en/articles/2026/08…

wsws.org/en/articles/2026/11… The contradiction between the aims of those who voted and the policies of the party they voted for cannot be resolved within the two-party system. It will be fought out in the class struggle.
