Ok, with all that talk about MCP Servers...
If you were wondering, does @typesense have an MCP Server? Funny you should ask.
Yes! Yes we do. We recently launched an MCP Server for Typesense Cloud!
So you can now tell your agent:
"Create a Typesense cluster, import this data and build me a first search."
And it'll go do the work.
You can also tune your search queries, set up synonyms, merchandize, inspect metrics, manage clusters, search our docs, query your invoices, etc, etc
... all without leaving the comfort of ChatGPT / Claude / your agent of choice.
So yes, I've gone from being repulsed by the MCP hype to shipping an MCP Server in the course of a few months.
Life comes at you fast I guess 😅
Go try it out! Paste this into your agent:

For the @typesense devs on Mac - I built a native macOS client for Typesense a few months ago because I wanted something faster and nicer to use than the existing tools.
It’s become my go-to for browsing collections, searching data, and managing Typesense.
Check it out: typesense.app
Great search shouldn’t be complicated to build.
@typesense combines fast, typo-tolerant full-text search with filtering, faceting & semantic/vector search, while keeping the developer experience at its core.
Powerful, open-source search. 💛 Thanks for supporting ZurichJS Conf!

Just calculated the projected CPM for this developer humor show we're producing.
And uh... this is going to be one of the most expensive CPMs I've seen in my career.
Now I know why folks haven't attempted to do this before 😅
Y'all better watch the show when it comes out and share it with your dev friends.
I need 🫵 you 🫵 to bring this CPM down.

The amount of logistics involved in producing a dev humor comedy show is blowing my mind.
Auditions, hiring, script writing, table reads, rehearsals, camera, sound, lighting, location, travel, editing, budgets, scheduling, contracts, compensation structure, insurance etc etc and whatever else is about to come up.
Way way more work than I expected.
This better work y'all. Please be rooting for us 😅

I am hiring a COMEDY WRITER at @typesense!
(Record scratch). Why would an open source dev tools product that is bootstrapped, hire a comedy writer you ask?
Because we can, and I don't have a VC board telling me not to do it, lol.
In all seriousness, I think there's surprisingly little, genuinely funny video content for us devs, that specifically showcases the weird new realities of working on a software dev team and the day-to-day conundrums we face.
And I want us to fill that gap.
So we're going to produce a series of short The-Office-style mockumentary skits.
But what does that have to do with Typesense?
The not-so-hidden agenda is this:
Typesense will be a title sponsor for the show, and if we manage to make these skits actually funny and they start getting shared around,
Typesense gets more visibility -> more people use Typesense -> ??? -> profit!
Genius idea right? We'll find out… together.
Because… we're going to "build in public” this whole thing.
I’ll show you what goes into producing something like this, maybe some behind the scenes footage, and have you join us for the journey. Follow me to keep tabs on our progress!
Today is Day 0, I’m literally willing this into existence with nothing but an idea and some budget.
So if you are or know a dev who has been a secret underground comedy writer, please send them my way.

Shout out to @typesense for building a great product.
Our engineering team loved Elastic Search and wanted to use Elastic for some of search scenarios, but since we are early and don't have a ton of users using Elastic didn't really feel like the right amount of engineering effort. Typesense is a great alternative with some good vector capabilities and runs great with our agents.
Will share more around our experience with it in future.
