The American people made their voice clear on Tuesday: CARRIER AVIATION IS HERE TO STAY, the "BATTLESHIP" is a RELIC OF THE 20TH CENTURY which must STAY THERE, the defunding of DDG(X) must be IMMEDIATELY REVERSED, and EMALS is AMERICA'S CATAPULT SYSTEM.
It really is not nearly big enough of a story of how historically many trans people got elected last night - showing that the transphobia which is so prevalent on here does not map onto the majority of voters. Ergo, transphobia as an electoral strategy has soundly been defeated.
Not to be outdone, but Michigan also elected its first ever openly transgender state legislator last night with Joanna Whaley winning #HD02 (Harris+1.5) on the outskirts of Detroit.
Not only did she win, she won by 25 points! A huge overperformance!

With tonight, and the deaths of all those ICE killed, I think only the ending of Lincoln's Gettysburg address can wholly encompass my feeling and resolve for the future in words.
