Testing…RNG

Some non-football news. My dad passed away yesterday from a sudden heart attack. It’s strange. You hear it a thousand times “Call your parents while you still can.” For the last two weeks, I kept telling myself I needed to call my dad (he didn’t text). It wasn’t like I was swamped with work or life. I just kept putting it off, almost treating it like a chore. We only talked once or twice a month, and the conversations were usually the same. He’d ask about work and the kids, talk about the Panthers, Vikings or whatever project he was working on around the house. Rinse and repeat. Usually I’d see his name pop up on my phone, let it go to voicemail, and figure I’d call him back when I had time. So yesterday when I saw his number I let it go to voicemail only to hear his wife’s voice on the message and to call her back immediately. Which I knew something was wrong. So, if you’re hearing this advice for the hundredth time, please take it seriously. Call your parents. Text them. Check in, even if it’s just to have the same conversation you’ve had a hundred times before cause it could be gone just like that…
