No comments allowed of course, because this thing literally looks like one of those headcrab things from Half Life 2 humping her neck. I can't breathe I've been cackling for almost ten minutes. It doesn't help that I read the username as Peak Lovin

Physical copies AND language in the EULA that specifies EXACTLY how long I will be able to USE that disc without them engaging in some kind of digital killswitch fuckery that ends my access to said game on disk!!!! Because they are moving towards subscribing to games, you watch.

Physical copies, or I am out, and I know a lot of people they’ll be in the same boat i’ve been a PlayStation man since the90s it’s a bit like ford/Chevy to an American
But enough is enough
Except they can. They've taken a page out of the current US administration's playbook and instead of asking "are these best practices?", they're asking "who's going to stop us?". Which is an absolutely horrible tack for leadership of ANY kind, politics or business, to be taking.

You should 'own' pepetual access to the digital assets they are 'selling'. If it's just a 'lease' that should be spelled out in the terms along with the duration, like any other
I make digital backups. I don't 'own' the IP, I own the bits. You can't not give them to me if I 'buy'
My oldest begged to play TLOU this summer. She devoured it, then TLOU2. She wanted the remake of Part 1, and rarely asks me to buy games, so I did. Watching her unwrap the case, crack it, and literally inhale the new game smell... That's what Sony wants to take away from us.
REPORT: PlayStation is claimed to be considering delaying their digital-only future because XBOX is willing to go physical next generation🚀
✅Microsoft is allegedly telling publishers its next console, Project Helix will be entirely physical and will allow users to convert physical games into digital copies.
✅Sony reportedly realized that forcing a digital-only approach leaves a massive opening for competitors to capitalize on consumer demand for physical games.
✅A major unnamed game publisher (confirmed not to be Rockstar) reportedly threatened to skip PlayStation and release their massive upcoming title only on XBOX and Nintendo if Sony couldn't guarantee a physical release.

Keep up the pressure! We can win this!💪🏼
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
I really do think this is the question to ask whenever a game sounds short. Disco Elysium is about 22 hours for the main story, but I have 209 hours on it. Detroit: Become Human, over 100.

Is a 20-hour main story (40 hours with sides) too short for the new Fable reboot, or is that the right length for a focused, replayable RPG with endless life systems?
EA/BioWare did it with DA:TV, now Rockstar is doing it with GTAVI. I will never understand the rationale for dangling games in front of us and laughing at us for being interested. No other industry I can think of thinks their customers' interest and loyalty is a JOKE.
I dream of the day that the bottom line is no longer the altar on which we sacrifice the art of game-making to Mammon.

Always baffled me how in the wake of Legendary Edition people were so casually demanding they do the same for Dragon Age, unaware of the engine issues & how much more expensive it would be to remaster even ONE of those games.
Could be done, but it'd be so much more expensive.
Because when we rightfully elevated girls and women, we forgot to set the boys and men free from toxic expectations. So women were liberated, as they should be, but men were not. And we need to fix this NOW. Teach your boys their feelings matter, and how to process them!

Ross from Stopkillinggames was speaking at the UN today. You know PirateSoftware is fucking SEETHING right now.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ross Scott was speaking in the European Parliament, not at the UN.

How is it that some Americans such as Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, John Candy (RIP), William Shatner, Pamela Anderson, Keanu Reeves, Michael J Fox, Sir Frederick Banting and many hundreds of others can be so wonderfully awesome, funny, warm and kind hearted and then there's Trump
I genuinely thought I was the only person in the world who felt this way, and it was so alienating. But I don't have ADHD. I keep taking tests, they all come out "typical".
The rage is real. We also went from buying a copy of a game we could then share with friends, resell, or just keep forever and now we "license" a digital copy that we can lose access to at any time and corps are shoving the games-as-service model hard down our throats. Rage.
The number of people (including myself) asking for a physical copy in the replies should be the biggest clue to companies that gamers want physical copies. I have stopped buying digital-only games.

“Can I bring my baby to the interview?”
The message came in at 11 PM:
“Hi, I have an interview with you tomorrow at 2 PM. My childcare fell through. Can I bring my 8-month-old? I understand if you need to reschedule.”
Old me would have rescheduled.
Unprofessional. Distraction. Red flag.
New me replied:
“Absolutely. See you tomorrow.”
She showed up with her baby on her hip.
She apologized three times before even sitting down.
Ten minutes in, the baby started crying.
She tried to soothe him while answering questions.
She apologized again.
I stopped the interview and said:
“Hey. You’re managing a fussy baby, answering complex questions, and staying calm under pressure. That’s literally the job. Handling chaos while staying professional. You’re already proving you can do it.”
Her eyes filled with tears.
We hired her.
She’s been with us for a year now.
The most reliable team member we have.
Why?
Because when you’re used to handling a screaming infant at 3 AM and still showing up to work the next day, workplace stress feels like nothing.
Working parents, especially mothers, are some of the most organized, efficient, and resilient people you’ll ever hire.
Yet we lose them because our hiring processes are built for people with zero caregiving responsibilities.
If your interview process can’t accommodate a parent facing a childcare issue, you’re not filtering for professionalism.
You’re filtering for privilege.
Both my kids have been off Roblox since last summer. But every single one of their friends has kept playing. I've spoken to their parents. I've shown them these threads. Most just shrug like "what can you do?". I get it. It's overwhelming. None of my kids' friends' parents are
