If I sought the world's favor, I would put on finer clothes. But I want to appear in my simple, natural, everyday dress. For it is myself that I portray.

A person's character is reflected in the things that occupy their attention. Trivial characters are preoccupied with trivial things. #Stoicism

In other news, we're continually working away on our Plato's Academy Centre proposal. Hopefully, we'll have more to say about that soon. I've nearly finished my graphic novel on Marcus Aurelius and I'm half-way through writing a new biography of him for Yale Uni Press.

I am the strong and willing protector from the city of Naarden. How do you do?

I’ve just read ‘Bosanquet and his Friends;’ a collection of the philosopher’s letters. Of course, there’s much here with which one might disagree. But how sensitive, serious and sincere it all seems; how beautiful! And how unlike modern academics these people were!
What I don't get about transphobes is, like...don't they have anything better to do with their lives? Life is very short, all that time spent on hate is better spent on something productive, like drinking nine beers and re-watching The Fellowship of the Ring for the 20th time.
