UEFN Dev | Map Creator
I’m always browsing for cool products to use in my maps — UI, Verse code, lighting systems, custom weapons, and more.
If you build interesting tools or assets for UEFN, feel free to share them with me. I might not purchase everything, but I’m happy to retweet great work for others in the community who might find it useful.
I’ve already bought a few products from creators I follow here on X, and I enjoy sharing cool things I discover.
There are some awesome people building in this space, and I’m always glad to support and highlight their craft.

The complaints are now backed up by data!
FN360s new explore section also highlights just how static all the rows are too. How can anyone break through in this system?
fn360.gg/explore?list=top10-…
I tracked every new Fortnite map that hit the NEW row from Aug 31 to Oct 23. (20,000+ maps, hour by hour.)
How a launch goes: → ~40 minutes in NEW → players spike, then leave → 1 in 4 maps lands in a genre row ~2 hours after the spike, when most of the players are already gone → genre rows sort by live players, so it drops out again within hours
Epic's own docs say: "Islands that perform well graduate from the testing pipeline."
So I checked.
I took the new maps that performed well by Epic's own stats: top 25% for playtime, favorites and recommendations, launched with 100+ players, no Sponsored. 167 maps. All of them dead within a week.
Good engagement does help early. New maps in the top 25% for playtime, favorites and recommendations kept their players to day 3 more often. By day 7 that edge is gone.
Discover doesn't graduate new maps. It sorts the ones that already have players. @FNCreate @HaroldAtEpic
There is so much more I can say which makes things even worse.

On Oct 27, Fortnite's #1 island was a spinoff of a Roblox game.
3 of the top 4 were brainrot. 2 from the same creator.
Meanwhile Epic deleted 44,535 "duplicate" islands.
So what counts as original now? Genuinely asking.

Hey @TimSweeneyEpic, @FNCreate
I've been creating Fortnite maps since 2023, and UEFN has genuinely changed my life and my family's life. I'll always be grateful to Epic Games for giving creators like me this opportunity.
With the old Discover system, even small creators had a fair chance to succeed. I understand the changes were meant to improve Discover and reduce spam, but unfortunately, the new system has made it much harder for independent creators to reach players.
Right now, it feels like most exposure comes from Epic's Picks, sponsored rows, or already established creators. For someone without a large following or a marketing budget, it's extremely difficult to compete.
I'm not asking for guaranteed success. I just hope every creator has a fair chance to get their maps discovered again.
I truly appreciate everything Epic has done for us, and I hope you'll consider improving Discover for independent creators.

I wouldn't say it's as simple as telling everyone they need to "adapt."
Not everyone is willing to create promotional content that pushes into questionable gray areas.
Many developers in this space simply want to promote their games without worrying about whether their marketing crosses a line.
This is yet another example of how @FNCreate has failed its creators and the broader ecosystem.
By allowing certain promotional practices to exist in a gray area without providing a definitive yes or no on what's acceptable, they've created an environment where creators willing to push those boundaries gain an advantage over those trying to follow the rules.
And when those practices become effective, other creators are essentially pressured to follow suit just to remain competitive.
Creators shouldn't have to gamble with enforcement or risk their livelihoods just to compete on a level playing field.
Clear guidelines, transparent communication, and consistent enforcement shouldn't be too much to ask.
I see so many people complaining about Discover, and while a lot of those complaints are completely valid, I think it’s important to understand that you also need to adapt.
If you’ve created a map that you genuinely believe is good, learn how to promote it or reach out to content creators, collaborate with them, and find ways to get your map in front of more players.
Complaining is important because Epic needs to know we’re unhappy with the current system, but taking action is just as important.
At the end of the day, if all you do is complain without changing your approach, you can’t expect different results. #uefn

What is the point of personalized discover if you just get dropped for not having enough CCU?
I rarely complain about the state of discover, because I know it is a constant WIP, but this honestly is so bad.
Not long ago, genre ranking was about how good your game was... #UEFN
Here's a look at our Native Water Template with actual biome mask support to bring to life water variations on Aloha. This system is completely separated from epics default water system and supports rivers, lakes, etc.
Notice how the rainforest has darker green water!
You can find a link to download the system in the comments.

If anyone is interested in discovery, I published Fortnite Surf Obby. I have 8 followers. 4 hours later got placed in the new tab for 30 mins at spots 22 (20mins) and 30 (10 mins) and got 2 players. #UEFN

I’m convinced this was peak discovery. You had New and Updated + New and Top Rated, then if your map performed well you could climb through Gaining Traction → Trending → People Love → Homebar. Felt like there was a clear path to the top.

Hide and Seek Universe is LIVE NOW!
I combined some of my most popular maps and made a new one with a backrooms theme! There are some cool abilities to buy and A LOT of new hiding spots! More maps to come.

Epic Games has suspended my secondary account for "1.15.1 Violence and bloodshed." THIS ITS ABSURD, I only create driving maps! What does this even mean? Is this a joke? I’ve sent a report to the support team; I hope they can see how ridiculous this reason for the violation is. There isn’t a single trace of blood in any of my maps. Wake up, Epic! #UEFN @TimSweeneyEpic @FNCreate

I’m this close to losing my mind trying to upload a new Fortnite map. I’ve spent the last 7 hours dealing with the buggiest client ever. I’ve had to restart UEFN at least 8 times just to launch a session. Then I ran into a bug where using a skybox triggered an experimental feature warning, which prevented me from uploading the game. And after all that, I get this? How is this even possible? @FNCreate

Using the sponsored row is like when Yellow Pages calls me (this is a real story) and asks if I want to advertise with them. I ask if they have analytics on where they serve up these ads and there's silence on the other end and then, "analytics of where and who? what's that?"
