A message I want to share with adults who work with #ADHD kids is: pushing them the way that you push neurotypical kids harms them for life. Here’s what I mean. When I start working clinically with an adult who has ADHD, one of the first things we do /1

Dear journalists, Asking ChatGPT to answer a question and then writing about it with a headline like “I asked ChatGPT how many vacation homes is too many for retirement. Here’s what it said.” isn’t news. It's lazy writing. Please stop doing that. <3

Every time I'm 7 minutes late, I arrive like I'm smuggling a moral failure in my bag. Not because I don't care. Because ADHD turns time into wet soap and then asks you to hold your reputation with the same hands

If you don’t provide any context for the broader context of the contextual set-up of the casual story you’re about to tell do you even HAVE rampant adhd???? #adhd #audhd #neurodivergent #autism

Guilty. as. charged.
Some activities that autistic people in particular often enjoy: - reading dictionaries and thesauruses - researching one specific thing for hours - playing one song on repeat for hours - sharing facts (especially unique ones)

There’s a difference between jealousy and betrayal trauma. While one can lead to the other, and they can be related, they are not the same thing. They are discrete phenomena. IOW, it is possible to be harmed by betrayal while not experiencing jealousy.

Pretty sure after I die the majority of the replay of my life will be footage of me running back into my house from the car to get something I forgot and me on the phone desperately trying to get #ADHD med refills

Today I saw a N@z1 salute at a presidential inauguration and as a therapist who works with neurodivergent clients it is getting really f*cking gross to see so many people say it had anything to do with autism. Stop it. Stop gaslighting yourselves and everyone else. We all saw what we saw. It is what it is. Stop scapegoating disabled people for your poor electoral choices.

This is likely to be one of my more controversial takes, but ultimately the smell produced by a homeless person taking shelter from the cold on public transport is *harmless*. It might be unpleasant, but it can be tolerated (or avoided) in the name of compassion.
So something I think needs to be addressed about the "homeless on the subway" situation is what do we do about people who are *NOT* physically disruptive but do things like take up entire corners of the train or smell so bad that entire cars empty out. I don't think we should kick people off trains for smelling bad but it is a real problem when during the winter basically every other car you get into smells like literal shit.
