🇨🇳🇴🇲🇮🇷 CHINA, OMAN & IRAN FINANCIAL RAILS
While the US expands sanctions on financial networks linked to Iran, China and Oman are developing alternative cross-border payment infrastructure.
On 2 November, China & Oman agreed to:
Establish a $4.5 BILLION (30 billion yuan) currency swap facility.
Expand cooperation on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and cross-border digital payments.
These arrangements could eventually support settlement outside traditional dollar correspondent banking and SWIFT-based messaging.
Now connect the dots.
In 2025, Iran & Oman announced plans for a joint bank to facilitate financial settlements.
Oman is already connected to the Gulf’s AFAQ cross-border payment system.
And now it’s strengthening its financial relationship with China.
Meanwhile, Washington has been targeting financial entities and supply chains connected to Iranian sanctions evasion, including entities in Egypt, Turkey & the UAE.
Yet the new China–Oman financial agreements have not themselves been targeted by equivalent US sanctions.
Now look at the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran & Oman have been negotiating the future management of navigation through the Strait.
Their discussions include shipping corridors, mine clearance, traffic management and maritime security.
So Oman is positioned at the intersection of two critical networks.
The physical infrastructure moving energy through Hormuz.
And the financial infrastructure settling regional trade.
If Iran eventually joins the proposed Mecca Pact (MECA), Oman could become an important intermediary connecting Iranian energy, Gulf financial institutions, post-sanctioned Iran and Chinese payment networks.
The Western node is pushing for dollar banking, stablecoins and tokenised Treasuries.
China can expand yuan-based settlement.
Regional nodes can develop local-currency and CBDC infrastructure.
Oman could connect these systems without abandoning its existing relationships.
This isn’t necessarily the end of SWIFT.
It isn’t the end of the dollar.
It’s the emergence of additional financial rails, where countries have more options for messaging, liquidity, clearing and settlement.
War is the product to manage the transition.
Sanctions relief on Iran is what’s being negotiated.
Reconstruction contracts and settlement rails is the prize.
The capital is here, but it is flowing to efficient operators building infrastructure for the next decade.

It’s actually crazy how X makes you believe the entire world is falling apart every single day.
Another war, another crisis, another headline about how we’re all fucked.
Then you go outside and realize everyone is just living their normal lives, going to work, eating at restaurants and enjoying themselves.
Sometimes you just need to close X, stop consuming all this fear and go enjoy your life. The algorithm makes you believe that everything is negative and bad.
If your startup doesn't have positive unit economics and "AI" mentioned 47 times in the deck, you're getting ghosted. 👻

All eyes on OIL, skilled money talks more than news.
Oil prices are facing sell pressure today as fresh diplomatic signals hint at a potential breakthrough or imminent end to the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran.
Massive cyberattack just hit European infrastructure, causing sudden temperature spikes in supermarket refrigerators across Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, and more… strange timing ⏱️
