Yoga, Guru, Pandit, etc. are borrowed words into English, not roots. English shares many cognates with Sanskrit, but that does not mean these words descend from Sanskrit. Sanskrit is one branch (quite important) of the Indo-European family, not its root.

Today in history: 470 years ago, on 5 November 1556, the Second Battle of Panipat commenced, serving as a critical turning point in Indian history. The conflict solidified Mughal dominance in Northern India under the young Emperor Akbar and brought a swift end to the brief restoration of Hindu rule in Delhi by Samrat Hem Chandra Vikramaditya (popularly known as Hemu).

Removing LTCG only for FPI is unfair to domestic savers. It’s domestic investors who have saved Indian markets for last 10 years. It’s truly long term capital.
Moreover, It will also start round tripping and hawala like it used to happen earlier when people would send their money abroad thru unofficial channels and bring thru FPI route to save tax and operate markets.
I think it must be rationalised. Both STT and CG can’t exist. Remove CG and keep STT or other way around. If you keeping both, then give credit of STT as tax payment like TDS.
Also pl reduce complexities involved in set off of LTCG with ST capital losses. There are lot of unnecessary complications. Eg, Long term capital loss can’t be set off against Short term capital gain.. there are many more like this across FY carry forward etc.

One key reason Indians are becoming more obese is reduced outdoor activity and thus less sunlight.
Light affects insulin sensitivity in several ways.
The use of SAD blue light, the type usually used for winter depression, causes insulin resistance, mostly by increasing insulin, rather than glucose.
“...both the morning and evening blue-enriched light exposure resulted in higher insulin resistance relative to dim light.”
However, red light helps to lower blood glucose, and near-infrared is associated with reductions in HOMA-IR (insulin resistance).
"A 15 min exposure to 670 nm light reduced the degree of blood glucose elevation following glucose intake by 27.7%, integrated over 2 h after the glucose challenge."
Sunlight contains lots of blue and red and is associated with better insulin sensitivity. Incandescent lighting is a much better option for metabolic health because it has more of the beneficial red and near-infrared light than LEDs.
“Increased bright sunlight exposure was associated with lower fasting insulin, lower homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance, lower homeostatic model assessment for β-cell function, and lower triglyceride levels.”

Either India has too much black money or savings rate is going down significantly. Everything is expensive in India relative to per capita GDP and income levels.
Try a similar breakfast at any airport. A simple black coffee cost 420 Rs at @CSMIA_Official T2 @Starbucks. Every food joint there is quite busy. Either everyone (except me) makes a lot of money or they simply don’t care.

Archaic prohibition laws must go. The whole world drinks alcohol (including most of India), why is it a crime? Legalise it and use the revenue. @CMOGuj
