Nobody said an independent artist shouldn’t have an LLC, business credit, or transaction history. That’s just basic business practice. The point is that having those things doesn’t mean a bank is going to approve you for $100K. They’re looking at revenue, cash flow, existing debt, collateral, and your ability to repay the loan. And if you’re an independent artist generating enough revenue to qualify for that kind of financing, you’re already in a different position than an artist just starting out. That’s why comparing a bank loan to a record deal isn’t as simple as people are making it. A label may take a financial risk on an artist a bank wouldn’t even consider lending to.

Bro, do your research! 😂 It was a co-headlining tour with Jay and X! Method Man and Redman were the opening acts. Just because it was called the Hard Knock Life Tour doesn’t mean Jay was the only headliner. There are even people who attended shows where X closed the night. And none of that changes the fact that X was absolutely dominating commercially in 98–99. You’re confusing the name of a tour with who was the bigger star!
