🇿🇦The ANC is facing a major financial challenge after telecommunications company Eltel moved to seize nearly R40 million from five of the ruling party’s Nedbank accounts‼️
The legal dispute stems from telecommunications work carried out for the ANC between February and May 2019. While the ANC signed an acknowledgment of debt for R24.2 million in March 2022, the outstanding total has since ballooned to R39.9 million due to interest and accumulated legal expenses.
On 25 September 2026, a notice was delivered to Nedbank via the sheriff of the court, demanding that funds across the identified accounts be paid over to satisfy the debt. The asset grab directly targets essential funds earmarked for fundraising, staff salaries, and upcoming election campaigns.
This legal move mirrors a prior, separate financial crisis involving Ezulweni Investments over 2019 election banners. In that previous dispute, the freezing of party bank accounts caused what the ANC's treasurer-general, Gwen Ramokgopa, termed "complete operational paralysis," leaving the party temporarily unable to pay staff or sustain community programs across all nine provinces.
High court documents filed in Johannesburg indicate a writ of execution has been pursued, though it remains unconfirmed how much cash is presently sitting in the targeted accounts or whether the ANC will launch an urgent counter-application to stay the block.

Here is yet another apology from the media for spreading lies about @afriforum, this time from @eNCA.
eNCA has been instructed by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) to broadcast the correction below, including an apology, after lies about AfriForum were spread by its former presenter, @HeidiGiokos.
This follows several findings by the Press Ombud that @News24, @PieterduToit and other media institutions had to apologise for publishing lies about AfriForum.
South Africa has many good journalists who take their responsibility to report accurately and fairly seriously. Unfortunately, there are also those who behave more like anti-AfriForum activists than journalists.
Hopefully, this latest finding in AfriForum’s favour, together with previous findings, sends a clear message to journalists at News24, eNCA and elsewhere who spread lies about AfriForum: in doing so, they undermine their own credibility.

I enjoy watching this wordplay surrounding the "Genocide in South Africa" debate and how the issue gets obfuscated by simply switching a few words around.
When you say, "There is no genocide in South Africa," who are you talking about?
The farmers? The woman? Because we do actually refer to the pandemic against our ladies as a FEMICIDE, which one can argue really resembles a gender-based "genocide" in which, ironically, the argument can be made that there is, in fact, a genocide in South Africa. 🤷♂️
I was always under the impression that the genocide debate revolved specifically around farmers. When did it become a white genocide in South Africa? Because they are not the same thing.
You see, there can be a FEMICIDE in South Africa.
Most people call it that. It's even acknowledged by the President. Even when it occurs inside the same high-violence environment in which black South African men are predominantly killed. We call it a FEMICIDE.
But as soon as we apply that logic to FARMERS and call it a GENOCIDE OF FARMERS (of which the evidence clearly suggests the highest per capita rate) it becomes just ordinary crime within the same high-violence environment.
So either FEMICIDE is just ordinary crime.
Or the killing of FARMERS is a GENOCIDE within the farming community. Is FARMICIDE a word?
You can't have it one way and not the other.
If we changed this entire debate around the genocide of farmers in South Africa and called it FARMERCIDE instead:
Would it be more acceptable?
Could we then accept there's FEMICIDE AND FARMICIDE within the same high-violence environment?
And if so, would it change a damn thing about the argument being made to consider it a priority crime such as FEMICIDE?
WTF are we dancing around stupid semantics in 2026?
