ALT #T1D: Menopause symptoms often mimic diabetes symptoms - and it causes real confusion Women with Type 1 diabetes told us they struggled to tell the difference between: night sweats vs hypos ) fatigue vs high glucose mood swings vs hormonal shifts One woman said: "I didn't know if it was a hypo or a hot flush." This confusion delays help-seeking and increases distress. Clinicians need to recognise this overlap. #Type1Strong #MenopauseHealth

ALT #T2D women told us they want more support during the menopausal transition. Among women with #T2D, we found: • Almost 90% wanting medical support such as treatment options • Three quarters of women with T2D would like more emotional support • 65% wanted lifestyle guidance • Over half would like more educational materials • Over 40% would like more peer support #Type2Strong #MenopauseHealth

ALT Menopause Hormone Therapy, MHT, use is slightly higher in women with #diabetes: • 48% of women with T1D • 46% of women with T2D • 43% of women without diabetes Across diabetes types, 90% of women agreed MHT helped or relieved many of their symptoms. Women with diabetes are willing to try treatments - they deserve better guidance & support #MHT #MenopauseTreatment

ALT Many women told us that #menopause is not routinely discussed in #diabetes appointments, leaving important needs unmet. These findings highlight a wider issue: women with diabetes, regardless of type, are navigating menopause without appropriate support or information. Improving conversations in healthcare could make a meaningful difference for everyone. #MenopauseAndDiabetes #SupportWomen #MenopauseHealth
