Just in case you haven't figured it out yet..... jews will always be jews!! On August 13, 339, C.E the Roman Emperor Constantine prohibited jews from owning Christian slaves and any such slaves that were in jewish possession at the time of the law’s enactment were to be automatically transferred to ownership of the imperial treasury. On top of that any jew who had owned any such slave and, in the case of a male, had him circumcised, the jew was to lose the slave and also be executed. And to be clear jews were not banned from slavery all together. They could in fact own jewish slaves but wouldn't as it would take away from the whole purpose which was profiting off the backs of non-jews. These new laws had major economical implications for the jews so in 351 C.E (and while under rule by his appointed cousin Constantius Gallus) the jews literally did a revolt. Gallus sent General Ursicinus to put an end to the revolt, which he did with great brutality.
