These children are in the green again. No longer suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). This life-saving work is only made possible thanks to all those who have donated!
Our child malnutrition treatment programme consumes a considerable portion of our resources, but we continue to run it because it has proven to be highly effective in treating Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), with the majority of children returning to a normal weight by the end of the programme. As can be seen in these photos. If you would like to support our work, the link is in the reply. Thank you🙏🏽

A year ago, the RSF entered El Fasher in Sudan after an 18 month siege, in an attack which killed 10,000 people over two days and the UN found had the "hallmarks of genocide". Last year, UK arms were found in RSF hands in Sudan. The RSF is backed by the UAE: a big importer of UK weapons. When will Labour act against those brazenly breaking the arms embargo?

So Lana Nusseibeh is running purely off the back of her experience as UAE ambassador to the UN but repeatedly refuses to answer questions regarding her statements or actions regarding Sudan while she was Ambassador; just utterly ridiculous.
🇦🇪 NEW: Asked whether she would continue rejecting UN findings on the UAE’s role in fueling Sudan’s war if chosen to lead the United Nations, Lana Nusseibeh said questions about the UAE should be directed elsewhere. During a UN town hall on Tuesday, Yona Diamond of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, confronted Nusseibeh over her repeated denials of UAE weapons and support to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), asking how she could lead an organization whose own findings she has rejected. Nusseibeh, UAE’s Minister of State, responded that she had taken leave from her position as a UAE minister and declared: “I refer any questions about the UAE to the UAE representation.” She then spent more than a minute outlining her commitment to ending Sudan’s war, calling it the “litmus test” for the next UN chief, without addressing her past denials or whether she accepted the UN’s findings. 🎥 UN Web TV

This is just ridiculous gaslighting, by a billionaire who continues to try and use his influence to undermine Sudan and its sovereignty. Last night drones flew from an Ethiopian airbase and attacked a power station in Omdurman plunging millions in the capital region into darkness. UAE Arms cargo flights continue to land in Libya and Chad before they are transported by land into Darfur. South Sudanese mercenaries continue to show up on the frontlines fighting for the RSF. Yet, despite all this Mo Ibrahim would have you believe that it is Sudan that is the threat to its neighbours and not the other way around. Also the notion that Sudan is becoming increasingly ungovernable is a demonstrable lie, at the start of last year militiamen had turned large parts of Khartoum in to a ghost town today 3 million displaced people have returned to Khartoum, together with the Government that has relocated back to Khartoum; with the RSF having largely been pushed back to Darfur.
“Sudan is becoming an increasingly ungovernable space. It is going to really affect all the region. It is important to have dialogue." Our Board Trustee, @Mo_IbrahimFdn, unpacks the starting points to ending violence in Sudan and beyond in a region beset by conflict.

Perhaps the UAE's candidate for UN Secretary-General Lana Nusseibeh "could begin by explaining why her own government has been repeatedly implicated in helping fuel the genocidal catastrophe in Sudan." My latest piece for Zeteo on a big scandal at the UN: zeteo.com/p/the-uae-helped-f…

Vital & powerful read Note too that Nusseibeh helped the US in Dec 2023 limit calls for more UNSC action on Gaza, instead setting up a plush UN gig that delivered little change. The Biden admin then overlooked the UAE role in Sudan despite officials’ awareness of its culpability
‘The appointment of Nusseibeh, who has been the face of the UAE’s Sudan strategy, would be a slap in the face to the millions of people suffering the horrors of war, and a dereliction of duty towards those thousands who have already been killed.’ theguardian.com/commentisfre…

“We will not forget this conflict and we will act.” Yet you’re backing the candidate of the very country arming those committing war crimes in Sudan. Stop gaslighting the nation, @Ed_Miliband.
The world cannot ignore what is happening in Sudan. One year on from the mass atrocities in El Fasher, the UK is sanctioning those linked to these and other atrocities, and strengthening support for survivors and communities at risk of famine.

Lana Nusseibeh calls Sudan a "humanitarian crisis". Beware of anyone who claims the problem in Sudan is "humanitarian" as a way to minimize the fact that it is a man-made, atrocity-fuelled crisis caused in part by the very actors the UAE backs: the RSF & its genocidal violence.
I spoke with @Bloomberg about my candidacy for UN Secretary-General and my belief that the office must be an active force for diplomacy and peace: • “The Secretary-General has to be an actor rather than a spectator to the world’s crises.” That means keeping dialogue open, taking risks for peace and responding to crises with greater urgency. I also stressed that the Secretary-General and the Organization must be less risk-averse and willing to take political risks to achieve peace. • I reaffirmed my commitment to independence: “I would govern with only a commitment to the UN and its Charter.” • Asked about Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s tweet, I made clear that “I commit to engaging with Iran, like all Member States, to advance peace and stability.” • Asked about Sudan, I stressed the scale of the crisis: “Sudan is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.” I underscored the famine conditions and the immense strain on neighbouring countries hosting refugees. I also reaffirmed my commitment: “I would put the UN’s full political and practical support behind ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire and a credible and inclusive political process that reflects the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people.”

Meanwhile, the UAE, which backs the RSF, the militia that carried out these atrocities, is pushing its own candidate for #UNSecretaryGeneral. Will Britain block @Lana_Nusseibeh? If not why not?

Lana Nusseibeh, the United Arab Emirates diplomat who is suddenly being promoted as a candidate for UN secretary general, hasn't only lied about the UAE role in sending arms and mercenaries to the genocidal Rapid Support Forces paramilitary in Sudan. She has also lied and covered up the UAE role in killing civilians in Yemen. Some examples: 1. mofa.gov.ae/en/mediahub/news… but see hrw.org/world-report/2017/co… 2. mofa.gov.ae/en/MediaHub/News… 3. wam.ae/en/article/hszr76ab-u…

It's worth noting that the massacres and mass rape in El Fasher, Sudan, claiming tens of thousands of lives, happened with the complicity of the UAE and @Lana_Nusseibeh, now seeking to be the next UN Secretary-General. Empowering mass murder and rape should be disqualifying.
Sudan: One Year on from the Cataclysm of El Fasher. “It is as if a tsunami had hit the city,” said a resident who returned to Sudan’s El Fasher only to find it destroyed and largely abandoned after the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) October 2025 takeover. hrw.org/news/2026/10/26/suda…

Horrendous. Which countries back and arm these killers?
One year ago, the RSF committed horrific atrocities in El Fasher. Civilians were killed, beaten, raped and tortured during the RSF’s assault on the city. One year later, civilians across Sudan continue to suffer. Drone strikes kill and injure scores of civilians across the country almost daily. Civilians are forced to leave their homes and their livelihoods. And severe food insecurity is spreading. The United States mourns the loss of life due to the conflict in Sudan and is working every day to advance efforts towards lasting peace. Foreign military support to the belligerents must cease, aid workers must have unhindered humanitarian access, and civilians must be protected and able to return to their homes. Perpetrators of atrocities must be held to account. The Sudanese people have suffered enough; they deserve to live their lives without constant fear of violence.

One year ago, the Rapid Support Forces killed thousands in a genocidal massacre in El Fasher, Sudan. Today, our government continues to enable these mass atrocities in Sudan by providing weapons to the RSF's backers in the United Arab Emirates. It's time for action. Congress must pass the Stand Up For Sudan Act to end these weapons sales immediately. xitter.cf/zeteo_news/status/2114…
“A Genocide Was Committed in Sudan’s El Fasher. A Year Later, Survivors Recount the Horrors” The RSF killed, raped, & disappeared thousands as they overran North Darfur’s capital in October 2025. No one has been held accountable in the year since. zeteo.com/p/a-genocide-was-c…

EXCLUSIVE: The UK is leaning towards backing Emirati diplomat Lana Nusseibeh as secretary-general of the United Nations, we can reveal. Nusseibeh's candidacy has drawn controversy because of the UAE's support for the RSF in Sudan. Full story below:

One year ago, on October 26, 2025, the RSF, backed by outside actors, took control of the besieged city of #ElFasher, #Sudan. What followed was a horrific campaign of mass killing of innocent civilians, ethnically motivated killings amounting to genocide, forced displacement, summary executions, and widespread, systematic sexual violence, including rape. Today, as we remember and recognize the suffering of victims and survivors, we reaffirm our commitment to preventing atrocities and to holding perpetrators and enablers to account. The world can still act to protect the Sudanese people, cut off the flow of arms, prosecute those responsible, and prevent further bloodshed. raoulwallenbergcentre.org/en…

One way to “act to break the cycle of impunity in Sudan” would be to block the government backer of the El Fasher slaughter from installing the next UN Secretary General. Will France exercise its P5 power to do so?
A year ago, El-Fasher, the historic capital of Darfur, was taken by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The city was the scene of mass crimes against civilian populations, targeted on an ethnic basis. On this painful day, our heart is with the people of Sudan. France bows to the memory of the victims. Our compassion is accompanied by a constant determination to act to break the cycle of impunity in Sudan.

So make sure you block the RSF-supporting UAE's nominee for UN Secretary General at the UN Security Council please! Otherwise these are empty words.

They did not surrender, they were abandoned. But we, as Sudanese, will never forget them. We will honour those killed, stand with the survivors, and continue demanding justice and accountability from the RSF and the UAE.
