We are disgusted by racist abuse received by Joe Willock on Instagram on Sunday evening.
Following our win over Crystal Palace, Joe received several direct messages from an Instagram account that included racial slurs and deeply disturbing threats of violence towards Joe and his family.
Sadly, Joe has faced this before. Each time, we have acted quickly to support him and that has been our immediate priority again.
We have swiftly reported this matter to the police and we will fully support any investigation to identify the person responsible and hold them accountable, wherever they are.
This can only happen with meaningful action from Meta, Instagram's owners. We urge Meta to give the police all the information they need to identify the perpetrator, and to do so quickly.
Removing content and applying message filters is not enough. Social media companies must do more to protect users and support the prosecution of those who seek to break the law on their platforms.
We stand firmly with Joe and anyone else who faces this kind of abuse.

There is something deeply, deeply wrong if MPs vote to make their own constituents worse off.

When you consider that only 7% of children attend private school, it’s pretty extraordinary that only now do we have the first ever government to come anywhere near representative of that proportion (slightly under at 4%).

It would take the average UK worker more than 32,000 years to make what British Gas just made in 6 months.
This is a cost-of-greed crisis — and millions of people are paying the price.
There is an alternative: bring energy into democratic public ownership!

The results of the world’s largest trial of a 4-day week (with no loss of pay) are out:
▪️ No drop in revenue
▪️ 65% fewer sick days
▪️ 71% less burnout
▪️ 92% of companies decide to keep the policy after the trial
The conclusion is clear: we need a shorter working week.

On Monday, the government will try to ram through its anti-strike law.
An attack on the very frontline workers they once called “heroes”.
We’ll be protesting outside Parliament from 6PM.

I always wanted to do a cheesy Xmas tune in the grand tradition of the UK Xmas hits that were huge when I was a teenager. This year it happened, with @David_Wise and @Kev_Bayliss You're only allowed to listen if you're wearing a Santa hat, it's obligatory!

Great display at Celtic Park today 👏
We won’t accept corporations profiting from the misery of our people.
It’s time to fight.
