We discussed the frontline for freedom in Ukraine, the threat posed by Iran, and our responsibility to strengthen European NATO in the face of Russian aggression.
The UK is the causeway across the Atlantic that binds together Europe and America.
In times of our greatest peril, we have shown ourselves capable of achieving great things. We still can.
We’re delivering the biggest sustained increase in defence spending since the Cold War - a stronger Britain, in a stronger Europe, for a stronger NATO.

Rencontre avec Louise Sandher-Jones, Sous-secrétaire d’État parlementaire britannique aux Forces Armées dans le cadre du partenariat de premier rang qui unit nos deux nations, dans de nombreux domaines, y compris dans le cadre de la « Coalition des volontaires » en soutien à l’Ukraine.
Nos échanges ont permis d’aborder de nombreux sujets de convergence stratégique tels que la nécessité de renforcer la défense de l'Europe et de maintenir l'unité des Européens vis-à-vis des tentatives de déstabilisation et des menaces hybrides.

At UNGA @AndyBurnham, @EmmanuelMacron, @MarkJCarney and @FaisalbinFarhan brought together countries to discuss practical steps to improve humanitarian access in Gaza, support recovery and stand up for the two-state solution.
The global community will not be silent in standing up for peace and an end to this conflict.

Addressing the Command, Gen. Perry set out a clear focus for JFC Norfolk and NATO’s mission across the North Atlantic:
“The North Atlantic is once again a theatre of strategic competition. The assumptions many of us enjoyed for decades can no longer be taken for granted. That is why:

🔹Readiness matters.
🔹Warfighting matters.
And that is why this Command exists.

I discussed in detail with UK Prime Minister @AndyBurnham everything related to security, the protection of our people, preparations for winter, and available diplomatic opportunities. I thank the United Kingdom for its steadfast support for our energy sector. There is a new contribution, and we particularly value it as winter approaches.
At the same time, we are in constant communication with our partners about finding additional air defense capabilities for Ukraine. Our intelligence is now reporting that Russia is preparing a new massive attack against Ukraine. When Ukrainians are living every day under the threat of missile and drone strikes, lifting sanctions is out of the question. The Prime Minister and I see this eye to eye: as long as the war continues, sanctions must remain in place and be strengthened. Thank you!
