🌊🌿 EU4Biodiversity in Sevan Project Officially Launched
As part of CBD COP17, the official launch of the EU-funded EU4Biodiversity in Sevan project took place.
The project is implemented through cooperation between the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Armenia’s Ministry of Environment. It aims to support the restoration of Lake Sevan’s ecosystem, biodiversity conservation, improved environmental governance, and the development of sustainable financing mechanisms.
The initiative marks an important step toward realizing the Lake Sevan 2050 Vision, ensuring the long-term conservation of aquatic ecosystems, and advancing Armenia’s international environmental commitments.

📚 Building practical skills for human rights advocacy
Under the 🇪🇺 @EUPakistan-funded #HuqooqePakistanII project, #UNDPinPakistan partnered with @gchumanrights to bring together students and aspiring practitioners for the Human Rights in Action: Advocacy, Campaigns and Social Change course at the Shaista Ikramullah Human Rights Education Centre in Lahore.
Led by Dr Abira Ashfaq of @HabibUniversity, with a session on human rights research by Dr Sahaab Badar Sheikh, participants used case studies and interactive learning to explore issues including access to justice, child rights, adequate housing and climate change, while building practical skills for rights-based advocacy.

Effective communication builds public trust, strengthens accountability and helps citizens understand and access justice services.
The Ministry of Justice has convened stakeholders to validate its Communications Strategy 2027–2030, informed by consultations with over 1,100 respondents. The Strategy provides a roadmap for transparent, accessible and responsive communication, covering transitional justice including the implementation of TRRC recommendations, access to justice and legal aid, service modernization, the rule of law, and institutional accountability.
Speaking on behalf of UNDP Resident Representative Mandisa Mashologu, EU–UNDP GREAT Project Manager James Monibah highlighted the importance of practical, adequately resourced communication that institutions can own and implement. The Deputy Permanent Secretary, representing the Solicitor General and Legal Secretary, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to clear communication, listening to citizens and remaining accessible.
With support from the European Union, UNDP continues to partner with the Ministry of Justice through the EU–UNDP GREAT Project to strengthen justice institutions and improve public access to reliable information.
