Attention all designers:
W/the ACSA's embrace of Trump and its obliteration of its own flagship journal, we are calling on all colleagues to sign this letter of support, share it widely, and boycott that disgusting organization.

This is how sooo many universities lower their acceptance rate and increase their donation rates.
This is such good reporting from the @harvardcrimeson:
There are about 27,000 high schools in the U.S.
Over the past 15 years, 1 in 11 students at Harvard have come from just 21 high schools.
So 9.1% of Harvard students come from 0.07% of US schools. @nytdavidbrooks
I really wish Americans knew more U.S. history. There was this and a lot more.
My takeaways? intersectionality is a privilege + a burden. It means I’m not the least bit surprised by what happened and understand why. But I understand why others don’t understand and/or are upset.
Pardon the academic question-comment, what’s“brilliance” got to do w/ politics?

It’s a hard day to be Black and Latina, a woman and a mother, 1st gen and a Louisiana resident, the spouse of an entrepreneur and a professor of climate action.
Leave me be.

NEW: When working on their homes, many architects refer to Youtube tutorials because they are under-equipped with practical wisdom. In his article, Adam Sharr explores the ways that "building explainers" disrupt & extend relations between labor and design. platformspace.net/home/labor…

.@ACSANational, @NCARB, & @AIANational are fighting over funding with @NAABNews & their looming threat to charge architecture schools directly for their accreditation. They’ve been in mediation since last year & bills are coming due. I’m in @ArchRecord architecturalrecord.com/arti…
How many studies do we need to tell us what we know six ways from Sunday
Study (N=200 courses) tested 3 interventions to reduce gender bias in student evals, but none were effective. "Women who were tough graders or taught large classes received more criticism than men with the same grading style or class size." @kimelsesser

Im sorry. There’s just no other way to respond.
Families are struggling to put food on the table. I sent a letter to @Kroger about their decision to roll out surge pricing using facial recognition technology. Facial recognition technology is often discriminatory and shouldn't be used in grocery stores to price gouge residents.

Red flag warning Wed. No rain the past 11 days. Low humidity. Warm daytime highs. Vegetation drying out. Cold front will reduce humidity down to 20-25%. Wind will gust 30mph. This creates critical fire conditions. Fires that develop can spread quickly. #lawx
For all my Jersey peeps who went to Del State!
(And all those who didn’t know about HBCUs in the North)
#HBCUHistoryinPhotos, a partnership with the @WHI_HBCUs @GettyImages, looks at @DelStateUniv which began its story in 1891. In this installment, we hear from Carlos Holmes, Director of News Services and University Historian about DSU’s rich history. youtu.be/rZVV_i4upxk
Academic books take a long time to develop & weave thru peer review + publisher evaluations. I ❤️ to share snippets along the way—and provoke discussion about what we know about the past, how we know it, and which insights we carry forward.

I feel like this should go in an appendix to tenure dossiers along with scholarship on student bias and bullying in teaching evals

We are thrilled that @BarnardCollege professor Monica L. Miller's 2009 book "Slaves to Fashion" is the inspiration for the 2025 @metmuseum Costume Institute exhibition. #MetGala
