You spend months getting your SaaS to rank #1 on Google. Traffic starts coming. Amazing. Then you discover most visitors are students researching the topic. Not a single potential buyer. SEO has a sense of humor.

Stop mergng and ideally, even writing code
I am truly grateful to all the high quality issues and pull requests I am receiving…but I can’t keep up. Software is fast improving but I need to develop better techniques to deal with the velocity. Any ideas? What am I missing?

Fun story. I was driving to the Ops Engineer Fellowship dinner and @SamAsante decides he wants to surprise me. So we hop on Zoom while I'm in my Tesla. He's demoing something he's been building. I'm trying to follow along on my phone. ~45 minutes later, I'm a few minutes late to dinner and my mind is blown. But I have to keep my mouth shut. Cause we don't even have a name for it yet. Sam's been building this to help us build our other products. So meta, I know. I didn't even get a chance to ask Sam, "What's next?" after the @BeamDotWin launch on Monday. I have my answer now. We just landed on a name and domain. Now the question is, how fast will Sam ship this one?!
We've given AI agents jobs. Now we have to figure out how to manage them. I've spent this year building agents, seeing where they break, and figuring out what makes them useful repeatedly. Pumped to join @a16z's inaugural Ops Engineering Fellowship and meet everyone tonight.

Can I just quit working and take the next year off to recover from burnout? In the past month I am still addressing the discrepancies in the how the business was run 2+ years ago vs now with clients and I feel like I spend a lot of time on that versus building new. There is soooo much opportunity to build better institutional CRE analytics for the largest in home building, development, asset owners And I want to just build But instead I keep getting dragged backwards I am trying to build a new platform for analytics that isn't just focused on what is, but where the opportunities are

I think Moonshot is going completely the wrong direction with Kimi K3.1 Pro. Whats the point of training a 2.8T transformer if youre just gonna distill GPT anyway? Compute is scarce for them!!! and in my tests the performance improvement over DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 is nowhere near enough to justify it. If Kimi K3.1 Pro costs anything like K3, theyre fucked. DeepSeek is 25-50x cheaper. And a whale 🐳.

On a side note: I would have never thought creating a custom test running harness with ai, test suites, runs, jobs, retries, and diagnosing would be this difficult. It turns out keeping how one of these things work in your head is really hard. State mgmt, amirite bois?
Omarchy QA, using nightly builds, is now kicking off every morning at 8am granted there is only one test, but that one test is beautiful :) Should have 50 tests here soon

It's Kimi K3.1 Pro day then I guess They are prepping a blog page about it currently and have been editing it I have done a bunch of testing with K3.1 and it feels like GPT-6 Astra but with Anthropic's design taste, it's much quicker than K3 too

We can run RL on our genes and hillclimb whatever attributes we want This is the bio/acc future. People will be more open minded as machines eclipse human capabilities. The biological subtrate is astoundingly powerful and its programmability is just beginning to be explored. – at San Francisco, CA
I went to TED to talk about the biggest injustice in the world nobody takes seriously. The genetic lottery is wildly unfair. Why should a dice roll decide your life? It robs babies of the ability to walk. To talk. To make it to her first birthday. One wrong letter out of 3 billion. And we shrug and call it bad luck. It blinded my mother. After years of testing, the answer was: there’s nothing we can do. She’s not alone. 400 million people live with a rare genetic disease. Half are children. 95% have no approved treatment. I’m done pretending it’s fate. It’s a typo. And for the first time in history, we can read all 3 billion bases before a pregnancy begins.
