“We Do Not Want You to Know Him”: DOS Pushes Institution Over Chika Edoziem Some of you are still judging IPOB, led by the Directorate of State (DOS) under Chika Edoziem, through the lens of a personality cult. Understand this and know peace. We are not building Chika Edoziem; rather, we are building institutional authority. We projected Nnamdi Kanu for over 10 years. That was a terrible mistake, and we are working to amend it. Today, the same person we projected says that Ndi Igbo joined IPOB because of him and not because of Biafra. He now sees us as hired people that he can sack at any time. We have accepted our earlier projection as a horrible blunder, and we are now working to promote the institution, not the personality. We are not presenting Chika Edoziem to the world. No!, We are presenting the DOS as an institution to the global community. Do not expect to see Chika Edoziem the way you see Nnamdi Kanu. Remove the mentality that nobody knows him. We do not want you to know him; we want you to acknowledge an institution-based IPOB. We have learned a terrible lesson from the individual we projected. When he attained relevance, he subjected our cause to the dustbin and presented himself as the ultimate authority. When someone sees himself as the one who decides who lives and who dies, we should be very worried. IPOB Announces Mandatory Online Leadership and Members Training The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the first phase of what it describes as the grand finale of its first-ever leaders and members training. A flyer issued under the banner of “IPOB ZOO NIGERIA in collaboration with the DOS” states that the training, adjusted to two parts, will hold on Sunday, 25 October and Saturday, 31 October 2026. The sessions are scheduled for 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm Biafra Time and are declared mandatory for all IPOB members. National, regional, state, zonal, local government, and unit coordinators have been directed to ensure their members attend. IPOB says a link for the online venue will be circulated. Mazi Tony Nzurumike (DHOD) is listed as the resource person for the 25 October session. The topics to be covered are the founders and formation of IPOB, and the challenges, persecutions, arrests, torture, death, and detention of IPOB members and Igbo youths. If we were all picked up along the time 5 years ago, do you all think this struggle would have survived. Had we all been picked up or tagged as terrorists, do you think you can be claiming to be IPOB again. We did not do anything to deserve being called a terrorist organization. Self-determination is not a terrorist act but you can't because you're agitating for a sovereign state, engage in criminality, violence and insecurity. Being tagged a terrorist is not related to fighting for Biafra, Biafra agitation is not terrorism. The notion that one must engage in criminality, violent activities and arm confrontation to be able to achieve the Biafran cause is a misleading one and must be discarded.
