Termarr Johnson NO-DOUBTER 💪
The @Pirates' No. 4 prospect admires his 12th homer of the season for the @GSOHoppers.

MLB's new proposals to the MLBPA, per @JeffPassan and @BNightengale:

The Pirates’ best trade assets, according to @zachrymer of @BleacherReport:
1. Bryan Reynolds
“The Pirates should field interest in Reynolds this winter. The dearth of good bats on the open market could make him extra valuable.”
2. Starting Pitching Surplus
“Mitch Keller's contract would be better off elsewhere. The team also doesn't have a clear role for Carmen Mlodzinski, which was a point of contention during the season.”

There are plenty of options on the free agent market. Who makes the most sense for the Pirates?

The Pirates have claimed OF Akil Baddoo off waivers from the Brewers.
Baddoo, 28, was a Rule 5 surprise in 2021 for the Tigers but didn’t produce much for them after that. He had 11 home runs and an .811 OPS in 64 games in Triple-A last season.

The Pirates have extended a qualifying offer to Brandon Lowe. The rate this year is one year, $23.15 million.
Lowe has until Nov. 17 to accept or deny. If he denies and signs elsewhere, the Pirates will get a draft pick. The Pirates and Lowe can still negotiate other contracts.
RT @AidenStepansky: Brandon Lowe has officially been extended the qualifying over for 2027, per the Pirates.

Pirates announce Isaac Mattson has been claimed off waivers by the Mariners.
Had a 5.35 ERA in 38 MLB games. A step back from his 2.45 ERA during a solid 2025.
You won't find many better people. Hopefully he can figure it out in Seattle.

Edmundo Sosa should be on everyone's Pirates free agent wishlist:
-Down year in 2026, but career-best xBA, xwOBA, and xSLG%, and was an above-average hitter in 2024 and 2025
-Above-average defender at second base, third base, shortstop, and can play left field when needed
-Career .806 OPS against lefty pitching
You get a real back-up shortstop instead of Triolo and Gonzalez, a hitter who is usually average or better, and someone who can help you hit lefties.

As much as I want Brandon Lowe back, and the Pirates NEED him back, I fully expect another team to overpay for him.
I would love to be wrong, but this class is thin offensively.
