Nothing quite as sobering as seeing this opening night and feeling euphoric about art only for reality to set in by the end of the weekend that we're a dying breed. See Wildwood on the biggest screen you can asap so you can enjoy man-made art before it's gone for good.

Ben Affleck says the โJUSTICE LEAGUEโ reshoots marked the lowest point of his career.
He accused the studio of using the death of Zack Snyderโs daughter as an excuse to replace the director, calling it โone of the shittiest things Iโve ever seen.โ
Affleck also criticized the atmosphere during reshoots and said he was happy Snyder eventually got to release his own version.

Reese falls in love with Sarah from a picture of her. Tells her "I always wondered what you were thinking in that moment" and turns out she's mourning his death while carrying their child.
People think this just a dumb action movie and not achingly romantic.

Iโm never amused. They always take all the credit away from him and insist that his collaborators came up with the good parts all by themselves. (Nobody ever does this with any other famous director, just him.) Itโs kind of offensive.

The George Lucas discourse is always funny because everything he made was groundbreaking and genre defining and the industry has more of his fingerprints on it than just about anyone else, but most of his critics are mad he didn't just reheat his own nachos the way they wanted.

โ33โ from Battlestar Galactica (2004) announces exactly what kind of show itโs going to be. Turning sleep deprivation into the central threat was such a brilliant hook & watching the entire fleet unravel every 33 mins is still so nerve-racking.

I spent the weekend rewatching The Snyder-verse DC films (Snyder cuts). Ngl, this stuff is 20x better than anything James Gunn has put out for DC.

If you find a haul of Criterion like this at a Goodwill, it means a collector has fallen. Pay your respects to this person, and their collection you've obtained. Life is beautiful, enjoy your collection, and remember this while buying from the B&N Criterion sale going on now.
