When your vision is filled with persistent static-like dots, afterimages, light sensitivity, and other visual disturbances, describing what you see to someone who has never experienced it can be difficult. Art offers a way to make these invisible experiences visible,
developing an eye condition, demonstrating how changes in vision can become a subject of artistic expression.

My name is Marija, and I’m from Latvia.
On January 28th, everything changed. That morning, I was getting ready for a client when, suddenly, my vision began to blur. I remember looking in the mirror and not being able to see myself clearly.
At that moment, I thought I was just
everything I had been through.
This year, I’m learning how to live with my symptoms and understand my triggers. I’m trying to avoid unnecessary stress, slow down, and take things one day at a time.
To everyone living with Visual Snow Syndrome: We are incredibly strong.
We live with something that other people may never fully understand.
But we do. And that is why we need to support one another, keep raising awareness, and never give up hope. 📷
