I got to a place mentally a year or so back where I needed to self admit to a mental care facility. In Brisbane that was more difficult than I imagined. But I found a place that had a live in program and understood vets. I lasted a week. I was in group therapy with ladies who were catatonic because the male neighbour said hello, and males who thought women looked at them strangely. When I was asked to share my horror I chose to pass. If I explained my issues my fellow patients would be inconsolable. Veterans need much better access to special treatment services.

• Treat child fantasies “like a wave” that will pass, go for a walk, do a puzzle, journal, cook.
• Don’t try to change the attraction. That could be “akin to gay conversion therapy”
• If you’re only into kids, “focus your attention exclusively on the physical sensations” while masturbating.
• “Don’t beat yourself up, it simply does not feel realistic to never have sexual fantasies about children”
• Show “compassion and self acceptance.” Having a sexual interest in kids can feel “lonely”
This is what Labor calls “prevention.”
Attorney General Michelle Rowland’s office is defending it as a royal commission recommendation.
Ongoing funding: $4 million a year.
Coalition Senator Matt O’Sullivan: “The protection of children must come first.”
The starting point is unequivocal, child sexual abuse is reprehensible and criminal. This risks normalising a sexual interest in children.
Albanese’s Labor is spending millions of your dollars giving comfort and coping strategies to people who fantasise about minors, while comparing efforts to change that attraction with historical attempts to change homosexuality.
Child safety is not a self help exercise.
It is not “mindfulness.”
It is not taxpayer funded compassion for predators.
The Albanese government has now stooped to the level funding pedophiles “feel better” guides.
