Israel is a free and open democratic society, not an apartheid state.
What explains the high Arab turnout in the Israel election?

She was born in Iran and built her life in Afghanistan a woman's rights activist with a voice that frightened the men around her. So her ex-husband threw acid on her face. In the hospital, after the surgeries, she sat with her head shaved doctors had taken skin from her scalp to rebuild her face. She was still bandaged, still bleeding, still healing. But her son was not by her side. He was living with his father. And his father set the condition: if you want to talk to your son, you will do it on a video call so I can see what you've become. She accepted. She needed to hear her child's voice. On that call, her ex-husband looked at her destroyed face and smiled. He said: "Look at you. You've become like a monster. You'll never dare go out in public again people will be terrified when they see you. I dare you. I dare you to go out and talk about women's rights." He thought he had broken her. He thought that face was the end of her. He was wrong. Every scar on her face became a sentence in her speech. They took her beauty so she took his fear and turned it into courage. Today she walks in public with her head high, and she speaks about women's rights louder than ever. He wanted to bury her in shame. Instead, he gave the world a witness. That is why I invited her to our Freedom gala in Poland to dedicate to her the Medal of Freedom I received. Because she is the symbol of resilience itself: the symbol of every woman whose face was burned but whose voice could not be silenced. Thank you, Poland for opening your doors, for giving visas to my delegation of women from Iran, Afghanistan, and Cameroon. We are about to start a global women's rights movement and we will go together, all of us, to the German Parliament very soon. This time, I invited 10 women. In Berlin, we will invite more dissidents. @FahimaSarfaraz

I recently had someone from AZ complain to me how UT Republicans had become too squishy and moderate. Meanwhile, AZ now has 2 Dem US Senators and a Dem gov, largely due to the path the AZ Republican Party has taken, while UT still has all 3 positions held by Republicans.

This is so funny because Mao himself unabashedly admitted his dictatorship and bragged he killed more intellectuals than the notorious Chinese tyrant Qin Shi Huang
🚨 JUST IN: Chinese beverage company DongPeng have ended their sponsorship with Kylian Mbappé after he referred to former Chinese Premier Mao Zedong as a “dictator”. The company have said they have “zero tolerance” for statements that hurt their national sentiment. @marca

This brave woman, @FahimaSarfaraz, was blinded when her Taliban ex-husband threw acid in her face. He laughed & said she could never be the voice of freedom—because people would be afraid of her. She told her story to a huge crowd in Poland. And she said, “He didn’t win. I win.”

US homebuilder confidence has plunged to its lowest level since 2012. A record 43% of builders are cutting prices and 65% are offering incentives (19th straight month above 60%). The problem? Buyers simply can't afford the homes being built. Video: youtube.com/watch?v=oksfdsIM…

At least three Chinese firms are cutting ties with French soccer star Kylian Mbappé, after he made some comments apparently referring to Mao Zedong, the founding leader of Communist China, as a dictator. Read more: abcnews.link/jV172NL

The Boomer conservatives apologizing for this are so obnoxious. Old people also want zero property taxes. They basically want to contribute nothing at all to society and it’s eating a bunch of developed countries alive.
One reason young people want socialism so much is that they're jealous that older people have it and they don't.

Texted to my contacts but every time I call dispatch today, there was a wait time every time I called but officers arrived & cleared the scene. Not great accountability as far as searches & arrests go but it helped. I want to take SLCPD today for what they’ve done… – at Salt Lake City, UT

These age verification law are not & never have been about protecting kids. That was/is the excuse. They’ve always been about identity.
The UK has spent years expanding online safety regulations. ⚠️ A new Ofcom review found that most children still report encountering "harmful content" online. This is exactly the outcome many have been warning about. Age verification mandates, identity checks, and expansive compliance regimes create new surveillance burdens, but they do not address the underlying causes of online harm. As lawmakers across the United States are fast-tracking similar proposals, they should learn from the UK's experience and slow down before importing policies that have failed to deliver on their promises. Parents need better tools, better education, and greater authority over their children's digital lives, not government mandates for data collection, surveillance, and digital ID. Parents are the firewall. #ProtectingKidsOnline #ParentsAreTheFirewall

The blame-Ukraine-first folks are having a hard time agreeing on whether the speed is still throttled or not. If it is, then I guess the Ukrainians are lying about it being restored? If it’s not, I guess someone paid for the upgraded plan or something and now everything’s cool?

Once again, I live in Ukraine, and I have never met a soldier or a civilian who is fighting for Zelenskyy. Ukrainians resist because our country was invaded, because russian occupation means kidnapped children, executed civilians, torture chambers, mass graves, rape, and looting. Our soldiers defend their families, their culture, their civilians, and their future, not the president.

I was quite young at the time but I felt like I was losing my mind a bit despite being a naive lib. Libs would say the strangest shit imaginable about Obama, it was genuinely cult like
A big part of the Obama presidency that’s kind of forgotten now was Obama saying the corniest shit imaginable and then a bunch of otherwise jaded liberals falling over themselves to say how “cool” he was
