Let me tell you about a successful [dxp] artist that I admire, and have done for some years now. An artist that has successfully merged both his digital x physical art practice The artist ... @WhIsBe 👇 First of all, I personal love his style, his physical sculptures are next level pop culture resin works (consistent with my own style) that not only push the gaudy pop aesthetic with mirror finish quality that I love, but dive deep beyond aesthetics into thought provoking works around his personal life. Even though he doesn't have 100's of 1000's of followers on socials (~$8k twitter / ~40k instagram) he is one of the most successful [dxp] contemporary artists you'll know that is pushing boundaries in both digital x physical art worlds. Why touch on social following? Because I know there are many artists out there that feel they "need" a 100's of 1000's of followers to be successful. Let me tell you something, YOU DON'T! And Whisbe is proof of the fact. Remember success is not just $$$ but in this case it's proliferation and recognition of your artwork style/s with a broad global audience. Success can be scaled. Success for you may be recognition locally. It's all subjective to your drive. What Whisbe has is 1000(+) true fans. Look it up, learn about it, and work towards it, this will help you on your journey, be that locally or globally. Anyway, just a shout out to those artists that are getting on with what they love and not losing themselves, who they are, in the world of social distraction. (I was stoked to have met him at the @nftnow x @ChristiesInc 'The Gateway' VIP art party Art Basel Miami 2021. Worth every minute of the 36hr flight from Melbourne, Australia! 🙌)
