Every attendee has a similar device. If a few people around the room recorded the audio (and video), it would be very easy for someone to edit A/V together.
Questioners could even take selfie videos while asking and you'd end up with a fun final product.
Get a bluetooth lavalier mic to get a backup of your audio. Use your iPhone for more than a prop and record video of yourself too.
There's no need to count on the hosts having the right equipment when everyone already has it in their pockets.
