Talaash movie made me realise that Grief is just Love with no place to go. A love you want to give but you cannot. And we all grieve differently. We all cope differently.

We have a LARGE section of rootless Bengalis who have ZERO awareness of our own customs. Yes we don't have karwa chauth but there are several bratas where bengali women fast for their husbands

Ramayana’s casting wasn’t a mistake. People criticized Namit Malhotra’s choices from day one, but he ignored them. Now it’s time to teach him that ignoring public opinion has consequences. Ramayana deserves the backlash and a box-office flop.

Why should Sai Pallavi get all the hate.
Ranbir is equally awful looking as Rama. No grace ..No charm.
They are an ugly pair as Rama and Sita.
Arreee yaar.... Bardasht hi nahi ho raha! 😵💫
She's obviously not suitable for the role, but even as couple, they look terribly mismatched.
No charm.
No visual appeal.
No grace.
No compatibility.
Ranbir is simply too good for her.
Kaise, matlab KAISE koi itna odd combination choose kar sakta hai for the iconic roles of Ram and Sita? 😭
Aur agar itna makeup nahi karate, toh shayad Sita ji ke role mein thodi natural aur better bhi lagti. Makeup ne toh aur satyanash kar diya!

I do not understand why it was so hard to get completely fresh faces to play Ram and Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Both Ranbir and Sai Pallavi remind us of modern characters they've played earlier and we cannot associate them with an ancient epic. It's jarring. And why AR Rahman? He is needed if the theme requires fusion or experimental music. But Ramayana does not require fusion; it needs pure classical or folk music depending on urban or rural settings. Will we ever get to see the Ramayana of our imagination?

Why are they all veiled? Did no one do any research?
#RamayanaMovie costume department is so shit. Far right me khadi auratein to aisi lag rahi hain jese gaon dehat me devar ki shaadi me DJ pe dance karke aayi ho.

And I feel great to share my birthday today with this historic event of 21st October 😊
On this day in 1943, Netaji Subhash Chandra #Bose established a provisional ‘Government of Free India’ in Singapore. Lest we forget.

For Bengalis, Durga Puja is a homecoming, not a fasting competition. Maa is our daughter. We welcome her with a feast. Cry harder.
Happy durga puja 🌺

I don’t understand why these filmmakers are so fixated on Ramayana when they have an epic like Mahabharat. If adapted properly, it has the potential to outshine even Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings.

Assam, Bihar, Bengal & Odisha, we all celebrate durga puja but what bongs did to durga puja is unprecedented.
The Art in kolkata has never been replicated in Katak-Bhubneshwar, Guwahati or Patna.
Bengalis stroke a balance between art & religion.

"For us Bengalis, Maa Durga is our daughter. She comes home once a year. When your daughter comes home, you don't fast. You feast."
Yesterday in office, a few of us were talking about Navratri and Durga Puja. Somehow it went to food.
Couple of guys from northern part were proudly sharing how strictly they fast. No onion, no garlic, full nine days.
Then everyone looked at the Bengali guy in the group, from Tripura.
I felt a little awkward. I know Bengali culture a bit and didn't want him put on the spot.
He smiled and said calmly,
"For us Bengalis, Maa Durga is our daughter. She comes home once a year. When your daughter comes home, you don't fast. You feast."
