As the power struggle in #Sudan continues, re-upping the #hatespeech report we did with @FollowSUDIA and @AndariyaMag that provides important context to the political crisis.

Turnout in Serbia is high, apparently circa 70%. Voters did their part. But the emerging scenes in the capital are also what we expected all along; that the Vucic regime will not simply concede power. A long night ahead and many days yet before true outcomes are clear.
Fascinating clip: Serbia's acting President engaging randomly with people on the street, seemingly stunned by the outcome of the vote.

"I want to be a senator for every Texan who can't afford one” is a banger line when Elon Musk is dropping $200 million on Paxton
Talarico: This election is a battle between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be. The powers that be have chosen their candidate. They have bought and paid for Ken Paxton.
But we are standing with the powers that ought to be the teachers and the nurses, the farmers and the ranchers. The grandmother who is facing eviction, the little boy who's waking up in the middle of the night from the lights of the data center, the small business owner, who is struggling to keep his family restaurant open. Those Texans are my team.
They are why I'm in this race. I want to be a senator for every Texan who can't afford one. You want to know why they are spending $200 million against me? Because I don't take their money, and I never will. I don't work for them. I work for you

Over the last two years, $100 million in European taxpayer money has gone to Elon Musk to pay for Starlink for Ukraine.
In that same period, zero US taxpayer money has gone to Ukraine.
Replying to @elonmusk
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

Second poll showing Hinojosa catching up to Talarico (and passing him) with Latino voters.
Latino vote seems to be tightening up if this poll is accurate.

@jamestalarico 27%
Latino LV:

Good for @albamonica for continuing to ask the questions and clarify the issue. She did not deserve to be treated this way for doing her job.
Nusseibeh was the UAE’s point person on Sudan, according to Justin Lynch, managing director of the Conflict Insights Group research organization. “Throughout this war, she assured other governments that the UAE was not backing the RSF, even as Washington and other capitals knew internally that it was,” he told the AP.
The U.N. secretary-general’s role is to protect civilians from horrors like el-Fasher, Lynch said. “Handing the job over to the diplomat who ran cover for it would be an insult to the survivors.”

One of McGurk's last acts in office was to lie to Congress that the UAE was not arming the RSF in Sudan.
Just remarkable: TX Congressional candidate taunting Pres. Trump.
Hello Mr. President @realDonaldTrump your girl Monica needs your help down here in the RGV. But just so know the bar is 8,000 people. Should be easy for someone as popular as you.
Respectfully,
Bobby Pulido

No swords or strings, @elonmusk.
I'd just like you to explain to Congress and the American people why DOGE failed so miserably and why you then lied about the savings.
Will you commit to testifying under oath to explain?

My take on King Charles gift to Aung San Suu Kyi:
Phil Robertson, the director of Asia Human Rights and Labour Advocates, told The Telegraph the regime was using Ms Suu Kyi – who remains beloved in #Myanmar, formerly the British colony of #Burma – as a “propaganda tool in its quest for global legitimacy.”
“Is sending a book on soil composting supposed to be a message to Aung San Suu Kyi that she should take up gardening, instead of leading the country she was legitimately elected to represent? Whatever the intent, it’s not likely to go down well with the Burmese people.”

Asking career officers how they voted is not just wrong -- it violates the Hatch Act. Those doing it may be investigated by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, fired, and/or fined. There is no statute of limitations -- so the next administration can go after them.
SCOOP: The State Dept has started asking career diplomats up for promotion if they voted for Trump in 16, 20, 24.
Federal law prohibits politically based hiring for career staff.

ANOTHER scoop from @EricM_Katz and this one's real fun: State Department officials have asked foreign service officers up for promotion -- mind you, these are NOT political appointees -- who they voted for the last 3 presidential elections. Read 👇

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.
