The bigger story is that the richest man in the world helped the Paxton campaign spread a completely made up story about his opponent and no one will face any consequences
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times — but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days.
Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner.
With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time.

WTF @sfmta! The 37 outbound was been 6 minutes away for 30. Then 2 then 1 then 49 then 5. Now 20. Stop 14092. I could have taken other options. Why have predictions if they’re useless. Now I’m screwed.

Imagine threatening a doctor because she wears a hijab and then proudly telling the entire internet like you’re the fucking hero of the story.
WTF @AmazonAlexa ? The new Alexa Plus voice apparently has only two speeds: cocaine and foghorn leghorn. Just speak at a normal rate FFS.

Replying to @Acyn
How are you even trying to compare private citizen Kamala Harris speaking to WNBA players on US soil to FBI director Kash Patel using taxpayer dollars to fly to Italy to shower himself with booze with Team USA?
Dumbest mother fuckers on the planet.
So the @SFMTA_Muni ditched @PayByPhone to pay for meter parking, but did not replace it with anything else *in the field!* I had to find a kiosk down the block, go back and take a pic of my plate number, enter it 3 times, and then tap-to-pay wouldn't work. No signs w/ links/ QRs
And even though digital payments save SFMTA money over physical collections, we get an additional 0.35 fee for doing so.

I just don’t get what the Giants are doing. They play in San Francisco. Like, hello! Just say you support your LGBTQ fans and apologize that Pride night turned into such a fiasco. That’s it! Instead, they’re been obstinate and combative. It’s a baffling strategy.

Just listened to the Posey media scrum and wow man, I can’t remember the last time SF media was that contentious. Good shit.
Incredibly disappointing performance by Posey though. Was given a golden opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to Pride Night and refused to do so.

Hey @Xfinity @XfinitySupport you want to send a message out of something letting your customers know what’s happening? Or do you want to continue with your history of shitty service?
Looks like @xfinity is having a national outage. Even the mobile app and their own "support" site are down.
Ok. I’m not on this platform much anymore because: cesspool. But I have been so hurt and agitated by the bigotry displayed by the @SFGiants, that they went out of their way to make good, marginalized people and children feel unsafe and unwelcome has really hit me. So commenting.

I can't believe I actually need to explain this to another grownup, but for starters, crosses and bible verses are overt religious symbols while pride hats aren't.
Honestly, I think a lot of people fundamentally misunderstand the point of pride night: by wearing the hat, you're not abandoning your own religious convictions and you're not trying to convert anyone to a particular lifestyle or belief system; you're simply showing support for a historically marginalized group of folks by saying that it's okay to be yourself and that a person isn't inherently worthless just because of who they are. It's really not asking a lot, is it?
And if you aren't lucky enough to have gay friends in your life, you should get some because (a) you'll have more visibility into the shit they deal with on the regular and (b) their weddings are always 10x more fun.
For everyone who's got a problem with the MLB players writing Bible verses on their hats during their team's Pride Night game, I've got another scenario for you.
An MLB team decides to have Christian Night at the Park, and requires each player to wear a hat with a cross on it, rather than the team's logo.
What's your response?
Bigotry and intimidation cloaked in righteousness is still bigotry. And is not a true expression of Christianity. It’s common, but not faithful.
