π¨Before Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979, women had the right to choose their clothing, vote, attend universities, pursue careers, and participate in public life. Women could serve as judges, and reforms under the Shah had expanded their rights in marriage, divorce, and child custody.
After the Islamic Revolution, many of those rights were restricted or reversed. The new government introduced mandatory Islamic dress rules, removed women from judicial positions, reduced the legal marriage age for girls, and changed family laws in ways that favored men. Women faced restrictions on divorce, child custody, travel, and personal independence.
Women's lives became subject to religious laws. Over the following decades, Iranian women protested the strict rules and unequal treatment, often facing abuse, arrest, and imprisonment.
Nearly five decades later, Iranian women continue to challenge restrictions on their clothing, personal freedom, and legal rights. Their struggle raises a fundamental question: How much control should a government have over a woman's life?

FARM ATTACK: Another South African farmer attacked and brutally tortured on his farm this week.
Cattle farmer, Donovan Marx, from the North West province, had his ears cut off on Wednesday morning during a farm attack.
He was also shot in the shoulder and stabbed (with a sharp object) in the leg.
And, for the umpteenth time, as far as I can determine, not a single article on any English media platform about it. This gross coverage disparity between the Afrikaans and English media when it comes to farm murders is what makes it possible for so many politicians and commentators to get away with their disgusting farm murder denialism.
You know what's even more infuriating? History and research shows, if the victim was black and the torturers were white, we would see this story on every front page and news channel for weeks. Debates, panel discussions, political party statements - the works! The president would even come out and condemn the attack.
Again, I refuse to accept the twisted, psychopathic standard that dismisses a farmer having his ears cut off as "just normal crime."

Read the form. Write βNO VACCINESβ and initial it. Get a paper copy. Tell every nurse and doctor.
