my friend works at a Spirit Halloween and he told me they are getting flooded with parents at their wits end with kids demanding Digger costumes. they are loaded up with untouched Spider-Man and K-Pop Demon Hunter costumes; every kid is screaming they want to be Digger Rockwell.

The company has something of a monopoly in this sector, controlling over 90% of the outsourced cruise ship spa market and partnering with many recognizable industry names, including Disney, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Virgin Voyages. daily-dividend.beehiiv.com/p…

The Spanish language is designed to avoid responsibility. Perhaps the structure of the language is why Latinos are kinda irresponsible. The language informs the people's mentality. Some examples: Today at breakfast the bread 🍞 ran out so guy said: "Se vació" - it emptied itself And then someone dropped their 📞 phone: "Se me cayó" - it fell from me You could say "i dropped it" like "yo deje caer mi celular" or something, but people dont talk that way. Everything in the language absolves responsibility from the individual, as if things happen by chance.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Spanish accidental "se" constructions (e.g. "se me cayó", "se vació") are standard grammar for unintentional events, used by Spanish speakers and paralleled elsewhere. They do not indicate or cause irresponsibility; strong linguistic determinism is discredited. spanishstep.com/archives/35069 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguisti…

This is cope. Millenials experienced several of the largest booms in history. Mindset, beliefs and actions matter. Optimism should be your default.
Millennials: The Rug Pull Generation. Study hard and you'll get a good job. 2008 financial crisis. Work hard and you'll own a home. Housing crisis. Build a career and enjoy stability. Gig economy and layoffs. Enjoy your prime years. Global pandemic. Save for your future. Inflation. Finally, AI might free us from working our lives away. Potential World War III.

I'm sorry but this is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I thought it was a joke. The concept of going to prison for being in 'possession' of facesitting porn. 😭😭😭

A large number of tech success stories over the last 20 years have been companies either operating in legal grey areas or outright breaking the law Amazon - initial sales tax evasion Uber / Lyft - unlicensed taxis AirBnB - unlicensed hotels DoorDash - illegal workers & wage theft Crypto - illegal securities LLMs - largest IP theft in history “Prediction markets” - illegal gambling
Kalshi founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara tell me about how they met MIT -- and confirm that yes, they dated! -- but say that today, the company always comes first. Watch The Circuit premiere, out now:

Karp is right. israel can do things no other countries other than America or China can do. It's a superpower in many ways. It can completely ignore all international law and still maintain relations and trade with everyone. It is protected by the USA, but also internationally it is protected by its powerful diaspora. They will never let this project fall or decline.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on AI: With a minor exception in Israel, China and the U.S. are the only relevant countries. That’s one thing I am apoplectic about in Europe. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.

The Favela is just traditional Mediterranean urbanism. Maybe someday they will paint all the houses the same color and open some tourist hotels, etc.

this man, my personal hero of all heroes, Alan Colie was found not guilty of wounding youtube prankster Tanner Cook in Virginia. this sets an important precedent if a youtuber threatens or harasses you, you can just start blasting and ask questions later.

If you want to fuck up your life, sit around asking what could go wrong. Never ask, "What if things go right?" And also hang out with people who will always tell you why something will fail. 100% way to succeed at failing. Better to be optimistic though.
Guys, I beg you to start being the person you wish to be. This study found that just 5 minutes a day of imagining your best possible self, for two weeks, made people noticeably more optimistic about their future. Picture who you want to be, then go act like them today.

You can hate on military movies or Pratt all you want but I actually think we need more movies like this. Specifically, the live action PG and PG-13 movie. Everything now is edgy and R and for adults or a cartoon. If Karate Kid came out today you’d have a bunch of A24 disciples on Twitter talking about how bad it looks. This isn’t for you. We need more live action movies that kids and their parents can watch together. We’ve lost the Sandlots and Mighty Ducks and Mrs Doubtfires. I hope, at the very least, this does well enough to green light more family friendly movies.

Pretty crazy that The Gorman-Rupp Company, a Dividend King that manufactures pumps, more than doubled in share price since 2025. Not the type of business most would associate with those types of returns.
