Mushoku Tensei really resonated with me just because of Rudeus.
Him wanting to try to better himself to live without regrets really did resonate with me during the time it first started airing, so summer 2021. Why? I was depressed and thought of killing myself

Hot take: Half the anime community doesn’t actually care about morality in fiction. They care about whether the character is cool enough to get away with anything.
Light Yagami commits mass murdêr? He’s a genius. 🧠
Eren Yeager commits gênôçíde? He’s HIM. 🐐
Sukuna does horrible things? BRO HAS AURA. 🔥
But Rudeus Greyrat has genuinely uncomfortable flaws, and suddenly everyone becomes a philosopher discussing morality, accountability, and why he’s the worst protagonist ever written. 😭💀
Apparently, committing atrocities is acceptable as long as the character looks cool doing it, but a deeply flawed protagonist who makes the audience uncomfortable is where everyone draws the line.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIKE RUDEUS TO ACKNOWLEDGE HIS WRITING. And if your moral standards in fiction depend on how much AURA a character has, maybe you’re not judging these characters as consistently as you think you are. 💀🔥
Ain't you a Muslim too? Rules for thee not for me ass person. You are participating in haram shit, you have no right to police others

Highschool DxD and Highschool of the Dead were EXTREMELY popular when they were brand new, this is total bs....
Replying to @ThaBeefGames
OG anime fans used to look down on braindead ecchi harem series lol. They'd look at you with disgust if you told them To Love Ru was one of your favorite anime and then tell you to watch some Legends of the Galactic Heroes.

I was joking when I said some peeps are trying to erase tomboy.
fun fact:
Uokka canonically uses "Ore", a masculine first-person pronoun
that would be the equivalent of using he/him pronouns
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Japanese first-person pronouns like "ore" carry masculine associations in casual speech but are not equivalents to English he/him pronouns; the canonically female Umamusume character Uokka (Vodka) uses it to reflect her rough tomboyish style.

The person in the second picture is Macaulay Culkin and the paint he is using is green because is for a Toy Story Green Army Man Halloween costume. It is not blackface.

Drama Queen discourse is funny. A manga literally about moral rot, prejudice, and biases features problematic characters, yet some people who hate it can't look past their own perceptions long enough to engage with what the story is actually saying.
