The world must stop pretending russia is anything but a terrorist state. 1,600 guided aerial bombs dropped on Ukraine in a single week. Around 230 a day. Why is russia allowed to get away with this? When did this become normal in the so-called civilized world?

Ukrainian children know the sound of Shaheds, the way to shelters, and how to sleep through explosions. On their birthdays, they wish not for toys, but for peace. They didn’t choose this childhood. Help bring back peaceful skies. Support Sky Defense. u24.gov.ua/sky-defense?utm_s…

The Kremlin wants the world to forget who started the war. On 24 February 2022, Putin ordered an unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine, unleashing the largest war in Europe since the Second World War. The war was not ‘forced upon’ Russia. Russia chose to invade.

United Nations Day is an occasion to speak honestly. What kind of world are we leaving to the next generation? This question was at the heart of the creation of the @UN 81 years ago. Ukraine helped shape the fundamental principles enshrined in its Charter. Yet now, we must acknowledge an uncomfortable truth: the UN is far from its best shape. The pledge to “save succeeding generations from the scourge of war” remains unfulfilled, while the international system designed to uphold peace and security is failing those it was meant to protect. For some, these words seem to have become little more than a ceremonial phrase, repeated on anniversaries but forgotten when decisive action is needed. For Ukrainians, who face Russia’s war of aggression every day, they are a matter of life and death. At the same time, the UN has shown what nations can achieve when they work together. We are deeply grateful to the UN for its vital assistance to millions of Ukrainians. Equally important, the UN remains a global platform where Ukraine's voice is heard, where the truth about Russia's aggression is brought to the world, and where nations stand up for our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukraine stands firmly by the UN Charter and calls on all nations to do the same. The time has come to prove that the UN Charter is more than a declaration of good intentions. On United Nations Day, the principal wish and the main task is to ensure accountability for the violator of the UN Charter, restore respect for its fundamental principles, and ensure the ability to effectively maintain international peace and security.

An ordinary game of football in Pavlohrad turns into a desperate escape from danger. Instead of playing carefree with their friends, Ukrainian children are forced to run and seek shelter as another russian attack begins. This is the reality of childhood in Ukraine. Where laughter and joyful cheers should fill the air, the sound of russian drones echoes instead. Ukrainian children deserve a safe childhood, not a life in constant fear. Help protect them. Help defend Ukraine’s skies. u24.gov.ua/sky-defense?utm_s…

OTD in 1956, Hungarians rose up against Soviet-backed communist rule. Students demanded free elections, a free press and the withdrawal of Soviet troops. On 4 November, the Soviet Union launched an invasion to brutally crush the uprising. Seven decades later, Russia is seeking to rehabilitate the Soviet Union’s actions by portraying the uprising as the result of ‘Western provocations’, whitewashing the brutal intervention that killed and wounded thousands and forced 200,000 into exile.

Did you know Ukraine was one of the founding members of the United Nations in 1945? For eight decades, Ukraine has contributed to the UN’s work across human rights, the rule of law, sustainable development, and, above all, peace and security. Today, Ukraine continues to defend the principles on which the organisation was built and work towards a just and lasting peace.

Russia claims to be fighting Western imperialism. Meanwhile, it attacks a civilian ship under an African flag, kills a sailor and leaves three missing. Apparently, Moscow’s version of anti-imperialism is to terrorise everyone, regardless of their flag.
Deeply alarmed by yet another Russian escalation in the Black Sea. A civilian vessel carrying Ukrainian and Azerbaijani crew has been struck off the coast of Romania. These reckless attacks target innocent lives and openly defy international law. My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the sailor that was killed. And with the families of the three crew members still missing. My gratitude goes to the rescue teams working tirelessly to find them.

Ukrainian embroidered shirts are a living expression of Ukraine’s cultural identity. Every region has its own techniques and patterns, passed down through generations. For over 20 years, Ukrainian designer Khrystyna Rachytska has researched historic Ukrainian shirts and assembled a collection of around 550 pieces, some up to 150 years old. Her study of their cuts, techniques, colours, and patterns also shapes her contemporary designs. This evening, a cultural and diplomatic event in Paris, at the Cultural Center of Ukraine in France, will bring together historic shirts from Khrystyna Rachytska’s collection and a fashion presentation. A panel discussion with Ukrainian and French experts will focus on preserving Ukrainian embroidery, documenting regional traditions and ensuring that cultural heritage remains a living tradition without losing its origins or historical context. Protecting intangible cultural heritage matters: it safeguards historic objects as well as the skills, knowledge and cultural memory that give them meaning.

Russian fixed-wing drones are having a rough time over this sector. The brigade’s interceptor crews hunt them down so fewer enemy eyes watch our guns, and the warriors and equipment below can work in greater safety. Each takedown comes from a tight team that has learned to adapt fast to how this war is fought in the air. 📹: 26th Artillery Brigade

⚡️ Zelenskyy recalled that Putin promised European leaders there would be no invasion just a day before launching Russia’s war. "He lied to all of them back then. He knew there would be an invasion. He knew everything," Zelenskyy stated in an interview.
