I dove into the film of CJ Allen the last few days, and came away with a greater appreciation for the young player. At just 21, he’s ready to be an NFL Mike. 38 minutes of breaking down the Colts’ newest LB in this Draft Debrief: youtu.be/5pIEzDlXdY8?si=ckQa…

Not the biggest fan of the potential Head Coach crop for this offseason, but it's still a bit early in the year at least. One name that intrigues me: Patriots' DC Zak Kuhr. Experience as a Co-OC at JMU and Texas State and a defensive play-caller in New England last 2 years

Sad moment. Played through Mass Effect trilogy recently and it’s so much fun. Dragon Age: Origins is probably my favorite game ever too
BREAKING: Electronic Arts is cutting 400 jobs and shutting down BioWare, the legendary development studio behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Steichen hand picked all 3 of those QBs
Replying to @ZachHicks2
Zach what went wrong ??? Having horrible qbs … we all know this …. Minchew , Richardson , jones … that’s what was given to Shane … most coaches would win the number 1 pick with Those QBs

I don’t disagree with Stephen here, but I hope for his sake he goes back to being an OC for a bit. I think there is still a good HC in there with him, but he probably needs some time away from it to self scout what went wrong in Indy for a bit
NEW: I don’t *think* head coach Shane Steichen will survive the Colts’ organizational shakeup, but I also believe assuming he won’t is naive. Odds are high he’ll be a head coach in 2027. Will it be in Indy? Stay tuned: espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/5022…

Not how that works really. For instance, a team would be heavily incentivized to trade a 3rd for Buckner. You get a top DT for a playoff run then when he walks in FA, they’ll get a 3rd or 4th comp pick back. Very little risk and a lot of reward for acquiring team
Replying to @ZachHicks2
nobody on expiring contract is getting much by way of trade because they would only be a 10week rental for whoever trades for them

Everyone's quiet, but what if they start winning?

Tbh the biggest step to ending Chris Ballard’s tenure in Indy was a change in ownership
The end to a generational run of job security. Truly unprecedented how long he lasted without any deep playoff run The 1st step to stopping the mediocrity was this, he was operating desperately. Now we shall see how uncompetitive of a roster Ms. Irsay-Gordon is willing to endure

I'm going through Minnesota's defensive numbers right now. Absolutely nuts. 67% blitz rate. Only allowing 22.2% conversions on third downs, 25% conversions in the red zone. 10 turnovers forced in five games. Yikes.

The Colts are mostly out of the contract after 2027. It was a fine gamble to make after how last year started and it didn’t work out. Usually how it goes with vet QBs
"This is not pretty in Indy." @SaturdayJeff says Daniel Jones has "not been good enough" as Colts' QB 😳

Start working out those DTs for when they deal Grove and Buckner
The #Colts worked out the following free agents yesterday: WR Ainias Smith WR Courtney Jackson WR Joseph Manjack DT Jay Tufele DT Amari McNeill DT Cam Rice

I'm just excited to see what the new GMs name is so I can start guessing what @ZachHicks2 is going to rename his Build-A-Ballard series

In reality though, any kind of predictive article like Build A Ballard would have to wait until there’s more data to work with

Yeah, this is the best articulation I've heard. I don't love throwing the baby out with the bathwater on most things, but Zach is right: Colts should really minimize any further decisions the next GM inherits, instead setting them up to make their own decisions.
I think the best path for the Colts is to shop anyone that won’t be under contract going into this offseason. Let the next GM figure out what they want to do with under contract players. Unless some godfather offer comes in, but I wouldn’t expect that to happen

Not necessarily rooting for Colts to trade Jonathan Taylor, but 1) they should be open to trading anyone, 2) he probably doesn't fit the timeline of their next shot at a franchise QB and 3) as a football fan, it would be *really* fun to watch him play in a serious offense.

The obvious players to move are Buckner and Grove. If someone offers a ton for Nelson, consider it (although it’s better to keep him). Downs, Tomi, Richardson should all be shopped to a degree as well

Oh look a video in December of 2024 calling for Chris Ballard to be fired (more facial hair this time and the mic actually turned the right way)

I’m not spiteful enough to find more clips but there are dozens of segments where I have called for the Colts to move on. I have no clue where any notion that I haven’t has come from.

Like when have I supported him since 2022? There have been singular moves I’ve liked but I’ve been openly calling for his job for 5 years lol
Replying to @ZachHicks2
I seriously don’t know how someone can watch any of your content for any length of time and come to the conclusion you’ve supported Ballard 😂
