Loving these apparent "come back later" optional bosses in Phantom Blade Zero. Perfect to beat my head against for hours. This was an early game challenge boss (can't damage him until landing a counter). Whole fight was nearly 8min long (Hellwalker). More cinema next stream😀

Phantom Blade Zero made me realize all that button mashing I’m used to is not going to cut it. I’ve never played a souls or souls like game (not saying PB0 is that) so I’m not used to having much strategy in combat. This game has made really focus on combos, timing, and parrying. You could button mash through DMC, Ninja Gaiden and GOW but not this game and I like it. It’s changed the way I play action games now. I’m playing on Pathbreaker still getting my shit rocked

If you could cancel an attack to immediately parry, combat would feel dynamic. Instead blocking doesn't cancel anything, forcing you to play defensively, parry until the enemy's guard breaks -> then attack. This makes fights boring and repetitive, it's a bad game design
