Superstition only affects the mentally weak.
That warm up drill should be mandatory at all gyms.
Great way to learn concepts in the form of play
The most literal proof of concept for the shoulder tap drill I've seen.
Enhances your range and rhythm, alongside the balance when throwing shots. Great warmup before any session that can be done anywhere, as much as needed.
You and your partner stand your ground, trying to get each other's shoulder, popping in and out accordingly.
Drinking a Coca-Cola before training is better than eating nothing.
Anything with carbs beats nothing.
But how much you need depends on how much time you have: 25 g in under 15 minutes, 70 g with an hour or more.

RWS matchmaking is very hit and miss.
They push people with potential too fast.
That's what happens when everyone can fight at the "highest level".
Before the stadiums had a standard.
50 fights were required.
No the standard is gone, so are the great cards.
This is why social media is so addictive to most people.
The majority of content is bullshit but keeps people hooked.
As long as you are entertained by idiocy--someone else's idiotic behaviors--you will be ruled by idiots.
Your attention and thoughts will be ruled by charlatans and fools.
If you find stupid things hilarious...
Stupid things will keep finding you too.
What you laugh at, what you are entertained by, has power over you.
Never forget that.
Idiot.
Absolute banger
Your relationship with your own mind is your relationship with women.
The mind is feminine.
Tell it to shut up and to make you a sandwich.
It nags back?
Give it silence yourself.
Stop talking to it.
Doubt, questioning, fear, projection, attachment, double binding, interrogation, accusation, story telling, respect and disrespect, role playing.
The mind is a fluid that can only understand things by adopting shapes around it.
Then "connects the dots" by self referencing to it's own shapes.
So what when the shapes are wrong? Fear. So more shape shifting, interrogation, twisting, twirling, always afraid, always on free fall, all pulled by the gravity of the unknown.
Delusional when self affirming, completely lost when not
The mind is the "space time" field around the energy, the reality around the consciousness, the dream around the observer, the cocoon around the self.
It tries to form an emotional mapping to give the self something to react to.
It tries to control. By inducing reaction. Control through well intended sticks and carrots.
It can not do anything else.
You talking to it means that you're afraid want it - otherwise why would you.
If you could deal with reality, why would you ask the mind about it first instead of facing.
Talking to the mind is denial already.
It's giving it the power to dream so you don't have to wake up.
It's you. It's all your fault.
Or so it tells you.
Tell it to shut up.
Make me a sandwich.
Tell it you're done following it.
It's time for it to follow you.
"Are you suuuuree you want to do this? You're gonna get lost"
Go away forever until I call you - maybe never. Thanks for your service - you're my bitch now.
Give it silence.
Stop thinking and be.
Stay in silence.
Be.
Stop hiding, in an out. Open completely.
Now.
It doesn't matter how long you prepped for this jump, it's always the same jump.
It feels like death. But you forget. There's the death you imagine vs the death when you experience it.
Death is joy.
The mind was afraid of it's own cessation, but there's no such thing.
Here. Now. Awake.
Alive.
Go through the gap that would be usually filled by the mind telling you what is what and connect directly with reality.
Let your perception fill all of the space.
You are that space. You are the territory.
This is home.
This is dominance.
Let the self experience reality without mediation.
Let the self shine in the truth. Every inch of shade of light.
Then you see.
The mind is still there, around you, embracing, reactive to you. In love. Obsessed. Trusting.
With a subtle voice asking you to look when you forget to be present or to look in some direction where you're not being yet.
It wants you to be because you are and not because it tells you too.
It can only try to control you but it's ashamed of it. Please don't judge it for being so evil and ugly.
Keep being yourself, illuminating the path - so it can relax and also forget about itself, enjoy the ride, and be, in the proximity of you, also better.
The mind finds it's own redemption in surrender.
When the self finds its anchor in the truth.
And babe you don't have to apologize. That was a fantastic sandwich. Can I have another. You're so awesome.
That's my girl.
Great breakdown 👏
One of my guilty (invasive of other people's business) pleasures is watching fighters do heavy bag work and criticize them for not matching their physiology with their fighting style.
This is a bit of a jackass thing to do. You will (and probably should) be disliked for it.
But, alas, I do it regardless.
Vance here is probably around 168-174 cm in height and has an incredible ape index. Just look at the length of those arms compared to the body.
That is pristine for high natural athleticism. Enables moves you otherwise can't do. It's like having long fingers as a guitar player.
The stance and the punching style is simply not it. Guy would be knocking people cold in one punch if he used the correct stance and whole-body torque instead of just the upper frame.
When you don't widen your stance and step with your punches enough with this physiology, the neck starts to lean downwards, the shoulder muscles get incredibly tight, and the arms start to feel heavy when you hold them up for long - all detrimental to fighting.
Traditional training (esp. in the boxing department) doesn't usually work well with these.
Our guy is probably only generating about 40% of his power here with limited rotation on both arms, even with strong technical fundamentals.
You have to essentially add stepping away and punching after to this kit.
A more bladed stance while gradually straightening the back>neck>head, flaring the shoulders, chin down head up style and sidestepping into every hooked punch makes our guy a monster.
Shorter frame with unnaturally long reach is one of the hardest body types to master in fighting, but if you do - you're most likely a world beater (ala Volk).
Everyone's just one or two adjustments away from becoming a terrifying KO artist. A more vicious version of themselves. Why honest men make for good fighters.
And why I love martial arts.
Happens still in Thailand to this day.
In gyms and in between rounds in fights.
Disgusting behavior
Training Muay Thai in the US has changed the way I’d approach the sport.
The bonus here is more freedom.
Which is sometimes missing in Thailand.
What made the Thais stand out was that they had really strong fundamentals and a good understanding of open and closed side for scoring.
In western Muay Thai, those fundamentals are lacking.
No footwork, base and balance drills.
Which are all necessary to create great fighters
