Delighted to be on the picket line supporting GMB members on strike at Cinch Worksop this morning. They’re fighting for fair pay for high skilled work. It’s disgraceful that manufacturing jobs which serve towards the UK’s defence network such as this are paid nearly minimum wage.

Agree, so long as that doesn’t involve trying to break existing national collective agreements for other unions who are recognised to negotiate for support staff?

Stoke will quickly follow the destitute coalfield areas, if the government doesn’t protect the potteries. This is a city which has revolved around this industry for centuries. Losing the pots would rip the heart and soul out of Stoke, leaving people with little job opportunities.
This morning I’m with Jake Heeley, Mansfield Central branch youth officer and one of GMB Midlands’ young workers leads, at Asda in Mansfield, to promote union membership and survey young workers on their union priorities! #organisingyoungworkers #UnionStrong
The comments here show the dangers of social media and how important it is to have the facts before jumping to conclusions. People have misinterpreted the hashtag and don’t realise that the Dying to Work charter is a TUC led campaign to PROTECT the rights of terminally ill people
No one battling terminal illness should have to face extra stress and worry over their job security.
It's vital that employees with a terminal diagnosis are treated sensitively and with the best support – that’s why I’m so proud we are backing this charter.
