Leadership elections are tough -- big personalities, hurt feelings, and maybe even betrayal. @SpeakerMcCarthy talks about how to ensure the conference is ready to move forward, in one direction, after you win.

On today's episode of the History Hour, we're exploring "The other Gettysburgs" — Civil War battles that are often forgotten but have been compared to the titanic struggle at Gettysburg. Listen to the episode here: spreaker.com/episode/hayden-…

I applaud Sen Wyden’s vow to investigate financial corruption and suggest he take a hard look at this one gal in DC who stole $1.4 million from the feds and whose name is Mrs Sen Wyden. #SnacksAreNotAboveTheLaw
Sen. WYDEN, who will be Finance chair next year, out with a lengthy statement on Dems’ win and his agenda Notable on trade, a big part of Dems’ midterm messaging: “I will use this committee to reassert congressional authority over our country’s trade policy to bring down costs, end Trump’s disastrous and corrupt tariffs, reestablish critical trade partnerships, and hold trade cheats accountable.”

Being a great whip is a lot like being a music producer: knowing what you're listening for, but only after completely immersing yourself. - @PatrickMcHenry Loved this take.

Republicans had a tough night last night. We lost great Senators in hard races. In Alaska and Mississippi, we continue to fight. There are clear lessons to be learned from the results. First, we should listen to what voters unmistakably said last night. Their priorities must always come first. Our job is to forcefully act on them. Senate Republicans have an opportunity and obligation to show our voters that we are fighting for them. In the Senate, we will aggressively oppose terrible ideas that drive our country toward the socialism Democrats embraced. Our commitment is to common sense. And our focus should not waiver from the top priority of driving down prices that have remained stubbornly too high. I’m here for the fight. I know my colleagues are too.

Democrats seem to want America to fail. Republicans are going to continue to fight for freedom, liberty, and continued American greatness.

Let’s go Michigan! Great time on the trail to support Republican @MikeRogersForMI for U.S Senate with Senators @BillHagertyTN and @barrassoforwyo. He is running an incredible race and so much is at stake this year. Get out to vote and let’s send Mike Rogers to the Senate! 🇺🇸

Patrick Stewart. Turned up so early and so unobtrusively to be a star in the reasonably priced car, we mistook him for a delivery driver and asked him to go round the back. Took his hat off and said, “But I’m the captain of the Enterprise”. Fucking nice guy.

A San Francisco Federal Reserve paper recently found that the influx of unauthorized immigrants under the radical left accounted for 20% of rent growth during the 2021-2024 Bidenflation surge. By contrast, President Trump’s immigration enforcement policies are producing the opposite effect. State-level data show a strong association between increased immigration enforcement and more affordable rents. @POTUS will always put American families FIRST.

There is so such thing as a 'moderate Democrat.' Every Democrat wants to open our borders. Every Democrat wants to raise your taxes. Every Democrat wants the Green New Scam. Every Democrat wants men in girl's bathrooms. And every Democrat running for office will vote with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer virtually 100% of the time.

Kevin McCarthy stripped Ilhan Omar from Foreign Affairs because “it puts America in jeopardy.” She sat on a committee that receives top-secret briefings while equating America and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban and dismissing 9/11 as “some people did something.” This is a security risk. More Islamists are now lining up for the same clearances and the same access. We cannot hand them the keys!
